Abstract

Proses administrasi tugas akhir terpusat pada sistem MyITS Thesis saat ini masih menghadapi berbagai hambatan atau pain points akibat ketidakselarasan sistem dengan kebutuhan tiap departemen. Hambatan ini muncul dalam bentuk kompleksitas antarmuka dan ketidaksamaan persepsi antar-pengguna dalam prosedur akademik. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, tugas akhir ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi dan mengatasi pain points pengguna terkait usability dan user experience (UX) melalui implementasi metode User-Centered Design (UCD). Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, tugas akhir ini menerapkan UCD secara iteratif dalam menghasilkan prototipe baru sistem MyITS Thesis. Fokus utama solusi ini adalah mengintegrasikan seluruh alur tugas akhir yang sebelumnya belum tercakup, khususnya pada modul pencatatan revisi yang menjadi kendala utama dalam sistem yang sedang berjalan. Melalui pendekatan UCD, perancangan prototipe dilakukan dengan menempatkan kebutuhan dan batasan pengguna sebagai pusat pengembangan guna memastikan solusi yang dihasilkan relevan dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Evaluasi terhadap prototipe baru melibatkan enam orang responden yang terdiri dari perwakilan (dosen, mahasiswa, dan tenaga kependidikan) untuk mendapatkan perspektif yang komprehensif. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan peningkatan performa yang signifikan dibandingkan sistem lama. Skor rata-rata System Usability Scale (SUS) meningkat sebesar 110,7% dari 38,75 menjadi 81,67, sementara skor User Experience Questionnaire-Short (UEQ-S) meningkat sebesar 267,4% dari 0,46 menjadi 1,69. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa prototipe yang dikembangkan berhasil mengatasi pain points yang teridentifikasi, menghadirkan pengalaman pengguna yang lebih koheren, serta mendukung efisiensi administrasi akademik.

The administrative procedure for final projects, now focused on the MyITS Thesis system, continues to encounter several challenges due to the system's misalignment with departmental requirements. These obstacles present as interface intricacy and varying user interpretations inside academic processes. This final project seeks to discover and resolve user pain points concerning usability and user experience (UX) through the use of the User-Centered Design (UCD) methodology. This final project employs an iterative application of User-Centered Design to develop new prototypes for the MyITS Thesis system. This solution primarily aims to integrate the whole final project process, specifically addressing the revision recording module, which is the principal limitation of the existing system. Through the UCD technique, prototype design is conducted by prioritizing user wants and constraints to guarantee the resultant solution is pertinent to user requirements. The assessment of the new prototype included six participants, comprising two representatives from academics, students, and administrative personnel, to get a holistic viewpoint. The test findings indicate a substantial increase in performance relative to the previous system. The average System Usability Scale (SUS) score rose by 110.7% from 38.75 to 81.67, whilst the User Experience Questionnaire-Short (UEQ-S) score surged by 267.4% from 0.46 to 1.69. This outcome demonstrates that the produced prototype effectively resolves the highlighted issues, enhances user experience, and bolsters the efficiency of academic administration.
