Abstract

==================================================================================================================================
The Candilimo Dam, located in Mojokerto Regency, is an existing water resource infrastructure from the past that has the potential to be utilized as a renewable energy source through a Micro Hydro Power Plant (MHP). This research serves as a case study for the dual use of irrigation structures as a power generation facility, aligning with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study commenced with a hydrological assessment using rain gauge station data from the 2011–2024 period and GPM satellite imagery rainfall data from the 2009–2024. The data were then calibrated using the simple regression and Quantile Mapping methods, followed by validation using statistical parameters (RMSE, RSR, NSE, KR, and R) to ensure the accuracy of the data results. The dependable discharge was determined through model simulation using the F.J. Mock method and subsequently ranked using the Weibull method, yielding a dependable discharge for the MHP of 1.66 m³/second with an 87.3% probability. This dependable discharge result was used in the hydraulic analysis to design the MHP components. Furthermore, the analysis of the system's operational safety, particularly the waterhammer phenomenon, was conducted using the Joukowsky method and modeling with ANSYS software.Based on the dependable discharge and the net head obtained, the MHP at Candilimo Dam is estimated to generate energy under Scheme 1, resulting in an annual turbine operating output of 527,343.53 kWh per year. The magnitude of the generated energy is estimated to be capable of serving approximately 175 households with an energy requirement of 0.45 kW per unit. The study concludes with an economic feasibility analysis, including the calculation of the BCR, which yielded a value of 1.01, and a positive NPV for several scenarios. Additionally, the Payback Period calculation determined the investment return time for the MHP construction plan at Candilimo Dam.
