Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated digital transformation in Indonesia, particularly in the economic sector. This shift has significantly impacted the banking industry by optimizing operations, improving resource allocation, and reducing costs. However, despite these advancements, digital banks in Indonesia have increasingly become prime targets for cybercrime. Technological progress not only brings challenges but also offers solutions to address emerging issues. One innovative solution for enhancing public awareness is through interactive and engaging educational media, such as games. This design process employs research methods including in-depth interviews with stakeholders directly involved in digital bank operations, as well as experts in game development. The study is further supported by surveys, observations, and literature reviews related to online fraud schemes in digital banking and game design. The findings led to the development of a game concept with the big idea: “Stay alert to fraud schemes. Investigate scammers without being deceived,” where players can learn about and investigate various types of online fraud. The results of this research produced a prototype web-based game titled “Awasi Modusnya!”, a Role-playing Game (RPG) with a linear storyline focused on educating players about several types of online fraud, as well as how to identify and prevent them. The design incorporates interactive methods and storytelling to ensure the experience is both entertaining and educational for players.
