Abstract
Data Survei Kesehatan Indonesia tahun 2023 menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 188.185 anak usia 5–17 tahun hidup dengan disabilitas, dengan sekitar 3.454 anak mengalami kesulitan berjalan. Namun, hanya sebagian dari jumlah tersebut yang memiliki akses terhadap alat bantu berjalan seperti kaki palsu. Di sisi lain, pengembangan prostetik anak di Indonesia masih terbatas dan umumnya mengandalkan metode produksi konvensional yang kurang efisien, terutama pada komponen sendi lutut tipe polycentric yang memiliki biaya produksi relatif tinggi. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan desain sendi lutut tipe polycentric untuk kaki palsu anak penyandang disabilitas berjalan dengan mempertimbangkan antropometri anak Indonesia. Desain dikembangkan menggunakan kombinasi material hasil pencetakan 3D dan aluminium alloy sebagai elemen penguat struktural, dengan tujuan meningkatkan keamanan struktur, mengurangi massa komponen, serta menjaga efisiensi dan keterjangkauan produksi. Proses perancangan dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak Autodesk Fusion 360, sedangkan evaluasi respon mekanik dilakukan melalui simulasi numerik menggunakan metode Finite Element Method (FEM) terhadap pembebanan statik. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa desain awal yang sepenuhnya menggunakan material hasil pencetakan 3D belum memenuhi kriteria keamanan struktural. Melalui proses pengembangan desain secara bertahap, terjadi penurunan konsentrasi tegangan dan peningkatan nilai faktor keamanan hingga memenuhi kriteria keamanan statik pada seluruh variasi pembebanan yang merepresentasikan anak usia 6–12 tahun. Selain itu, hasil komparasi beberapa seri aluminium alloy sebagai material penguat menunjukkan adanya perbedaan respon deformasi dan faktor keamanan, yang menegaskan pentingnya pemilihan material dalam kinerja desain akhir. Penelitian ini menghasilkan rancangan sendi lutut prostetik anak yang lebih aman, ringan, dan berpotensi diproduksi secara efisien serta terjangkau.

Data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey indicate that approximately 188,185 children aged 5–17 years live with disabilities, with around 3,454 experiencing walking difficulties. However, access to mobility assistive devices such as prosthetic limbs remains limited. In addition, the development of pediatric prosthetic technology in Indonesia is still constrained, particularly for polycentric knee joints, which are commonly produced using conventional methods with relatively high costs. This study aims to develop a polycentric knee joint design for pediatric prosthetic limbs by considering the anthropometry of Indonesian children. The design utilizes a combination of 3D printed materials and aluminum alloy plates as structural reinforcements to improve safety, reduce weight, and support efficient and affordable production. The design was modeled using Autodesk Fusion 360 and evaluated through numerical simulations based on the Finite Element Method (FEM) under static loading conditions. The simulation results show that the initial design fully manufactured from 3D-printed material did not meet structural safety requirements. Through a stepwise design development process, stress concentrations were reduced and safety factor values increased, ultimately satisfying static safety criteria for all loading conditions representing children aged 6–12 years. Furthermore, a comparison of several aluminum alloy series demonstrates that material selection significantly influences deformation behavior and safety factor values. The proposed design offers a safer, lighter, and more manufacturable pediatric prosthetic knee joint suitable for Indonesian anthropometric characteristics.
