Abstract

Tragedi Kanjuruhan merupakan peristiwa kemanusiaan yang meninggalkan dampak sosial dan psikologis mendalam, ditandai dengan tingginya jumlah korban jiwa serta trauma berkepanjangan bagi penyintas dan keluarga korban. Masifnya pemberitaan media yang berfokus pada data statistik dan polemik hukum berpotensi menimbulkan desensitisasi publik, sehingga makna kemanusiaan dari tragedi tersebut perlahan memudar. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan medium alternatif yang tidak hanya menyampaikan fakta, tetapi juga mampu membangun keterlibatan emosional audiens secara mendalam. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk merancang film dokumenter dengan pendekatan dramatis sebagai upaya memicu respon emosional penonton terhadap Tragedi Kanjuruhan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, observasi, studi eksisting, studi komparator, serta depth interview dengan penyintas, keluarga korban, dan audiens. Pendekatan dramatis diterapkan melalui pengolahan narasi personal, komposisi visual, ritme penyuntingan, dan desain suara guna membangun suasana yang intim dan reflektif. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa film dokumenter dengan pendekatan dramatis mampu memicu respon emosional yang kuat, ditandai dengan meningkatnya empati, simpati, dan keterlibatan afektif penonton terhadap narasi yang disajikan. Audiens tidak hanya memahami kronologi peristiwa, tetapi juga merasakan kedekatan emosional dengan pengalaman korban dan penyintas. Perancangan ini diharapkan dapat berkontribusi sebagai media pengingat kolektif yang menekankan nilai kemanusiaan, serta mendorong kesadaran publik agar tragedi serupa tidak terulang di masa depan.

The Kanjuruhan Tragedy is a humanitarian crisis that has left profound social and psychological impacts, characterized by a high death toll and prolonged trauma for survivors and victims' families. Massive media coverage focusing primarily on statistical data and legal controversies poses a risk of public desensitization, causing the humanitarian significance of the tragedy to gradually fade. Consequently, an alternative medium is required which not only conveys facts but also fosters deep emotional engagement with the audience. This project aims to design a documentary film utilizing a dramatic approach to evoke an emotional response regarding the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. The methods employed include literature review, observation, analysis of existing and comparative works, and depth interviews with survivors, victim's families, and potential audiences. The dramatic approach is implemented through the processing of personal narratives, visual composition, editing rhythm, and sound design to create an intimate and reflective atmosphere. The results indicate that a documentary film employing a dramatic approach effectively triggers strong emotional responses, evidenced by increased empathy, sympathy, and affective engagement toward the presented narrative. The audience gains not only an understanding of the event's chronology but also a sense of emotional proximity to the experiences of the victims and survivors. This project is expected to contribute as a medium of collective memory that emphasizes humanitarian values and encourages public awareness to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies in the future.
