Abstract

Flowbow adalah inovasi yang ditujukan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi bahan bakar kapal dengan mengurangi wave making resistance kapal. Flowbow diklaim mampu mengurangi hambatan kapal pada froude number di atas 0,25-0,28. pengurangan hambatan pada kapal perang dapat meningkatkan daya tahan kapal untuk berpatroli dengan meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan bahan bakar. Penelitian ini membandingkan kapal DTMB 5415 yang mana sudah menggunakan bulbous bow dengan kapal DTMB 5415 yang diaplikasikan Flowbow. dari hasil penelitiann, penggunaan Flowbow dapat mengurangi hambatan pada Fr> o,265. dimana semakin tinggi Fr, semakin besar pengurangan hambatan yang dihasilkan. Pada Fr = 0,352, Flowbow mengurangi hambatan total hingga 8,57%.

Flowbow is an innovation aimed at improving ship efficiency by reducing ship's wave making resistance. Flowbow claimed to reduce resistance at Froude number (Fr) above 0,25-0,28. the reduction of resistance in warship provides benevit by increasing operational patrol endurance through improved fuel efficiency. This study compared DTMB 5415 hull which is equiped with bulbous-bow and DTMB 5415 with Flowbow. the result shows that application of Flowbow reduces ship's resistance foe Fr > 0,265, which resistance reduction increasing as froude number increases. At Fr = 0,352, Flowbow achieved reduction of total ship resistance by 8,57%
