Abstract
Architectural meaning has historically been produced through referential systems such as symbolism, typology, and cultural narrative. This article proposes an alternative design methodology grounded in Non-Referential Architecture, where meaning emerges from internally governed spatial logic rather than external reference. The research formulates architecture as an autonomous system of sense-making generated through neutral fields, sequential geometric operations, and internally consistent rules. By treating architectural design as a closed, rule-based process, figures and fragments arise as necessary consequences of spatial interference, density, and relational coherence rather than predefined forms or programs. The study demonstrates how internal logic can function as an architectural generator, enabling the production of spatial meaning through architectonic and perceptual consistency. Non-referential architecture is thus articulated not as a stylistic position, but as a transferable methodological framework capable of producing autonomous architectural form.
