Abstract
Penelitian proyek akhir dengan judul “Pengembangan Sensor Berbasis Fiber Optic Berstruktur SMS Dan MSM Untuk Mengindra Getaran Tanah” penelitian ini megggunakan struktur serat optik SMS (Singlemode-Multimode-Singlemode) dan MSM (Multimode-Singlemode-Multimode) dengan variasi panjang 0 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm, dan 30 cm dengan memanfaatkan metode microbending pada serat optik sebagai sensor getaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan variasi kecepatan getaran sebesar 24,6 mm/s hingga 111,15 mm/s. nilai sensitivitas untuk struktur SMS 0, SMS 1, SMS 2 sebesar 0,001 dBm/mms-1, dan SMS 3 sebesar 0,0006 dBm/mms-1. Untuk nilai sensitivitas struktur MSM 0 sebesar 0,003 dBm/mms-1, MSM 1 dan MSM 2 sebesar 0,001 dBm/mms-1, dan MSM 3 sebesar 0,004dBm/mms-1. Didapatkan temuan apabila semakin panjang variasi pada struktur SMS dan MSM maka nilai sensitivitasnya akan menurun karena adanya pengaruh microbending akibat getaran pada serat optik sehingga menimbulkan losses. Perubahan getaran yang diberikan pada serat optik akan mempengaruhi juga terhadap kemampuan sensor untuk mendeteksi getaran. ================================================================================================================================
Final project research with the title "Development of Fiber Optic Sensors Based on SMS and MSM Structures to Sense Ground Vibrations" this study uses SMS (Singlemode-Multimode-Singlemode) and MSM (Multimode-Singlemode-Multimode) fiber optic structures with length variations of 0 cm, 10 cm, 20 cm, and 30 cm by utilizing the microbending method on optical fibers as vibration sensors. This study uses variations in vibration speed of 24.6 mm/s to 111.15 mm/s. The sensitivity value for the SMS 0, SMS 1, SMS 2 structures is 0.001 dBm/mms-1, and SMS 3 is 0.0006 dBm/mms-1. For the sensitivity value of the MSM 0 structure of 0.003 dBm/mms-1, MSM 1 and MSM 2 of 0.001 dBm/mms-1, and MSM 3 of 0.004 dBm/mms-1. It was found that the longer the variation in the SMS and MSM structures, the sensitivity value will decrease due to the influence of microbending due to vibrations in the optical fiber, which causes losses. Changes in vibrations given to the optical fiber will also affect the sensor's ability to detect vibrations.
