Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu produsen batubara terbesar di dunia, yang memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap perekonomian nasional. Namun, aktivitas penambangan batubara menyebabkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Lahan bekas tambang sering kali memiliki tingkat kesuburan yang rendah, keasaman tinggi, dan kandungan logam berat yang merugikan. Untuk memitigasi dampak ini, remediasi lahan dengan metode revegetasi sering digunakan. Revegetasi bertujuan untuk mengembalikan fungsi ekologis lahan dengan menanam jenis vegetasi tertentu yang adaptif terhadap kondisi tanah yang terdegradasi. Tahapan yang dilakukan di bekas lahan tambang batubara adalah penataan ulang lahan, penebaran tahan pucuk, penanaman tanaman dan perawatan serta monitoring. Salah satu tahapan penting dalam pelaksanaan revegetasi adalah pada saat proses penebaran tanah pucuk. Praktik keinsinyuran ini berfokus pada tahap penebaran tanah pucuk yang dilakukan dengan dua metode yaitu spreading dan potting. Tujuannya adalah untuk melakukan evaluasi implementasi profesionalisme dan etika profesi insinyur serta standart K3 dalam pelaksanaan reklamasi metode spreading dan potting. Selanjutnya juga untuk melakukan evlauasi kelayakan ekonomi dari proyek reklamasi metode spreading dan potting. Hasil yang didapatkan dari praktik keinsinyuran ini adalah untuk implementasi aspek profesionalisme, etika profesi dan standar K3 pada kegiatan spreading dan potting berada pada kategori sangat baik (rata-rata nilai 94%). Lalu hasil evaluasi kelayakan ekonomi dari proyek reklamasi metode spreading dan potting bernilai 6,36 untuk potting dan 2,22 untuk spreading. Sehingga kesimpuannya metode potting memberikan keuntungan finansial yang lebih kepada perusahaan dibandingkan dengan metode spreading. Keputusan pemilihan metode potting juga telah didasarkan pada analisa dampak lingkungan dan K3 yang merupakan bagian penting dalam etika profesi insinyur.

Indonesia is one of the world's largest coal producers, contributing significantly to the national economy. However, coal mining activities have a negative impact on the environment. Formerly mined land often had low fertility, high acidity, and high levels of harmful heavy metals. To mitigate these impacts, land remediation using revegetation methods is often used. Revegetation aims to restore the ecological function of the land by planting specific vegetation types that are adaptive to degraded soil conditions. The stages carried out in former coal mines include land restructuring, spreading topsoil, planting plants, and maintaining and monitoring. One of the critical stages in revegetation is the topsoil spreading process. This engineering practice focuses on the topsoil placement stage, which is implemented using two methods: spreading and potting. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the implementation of engineering professionalism, professional ethics, and occupational health and safety (OHS/K3) standards in reclamation activities using the spreading and potting methods, as well as to assess the economic feasibility of reclamation projects employing both methods. The results of this engineering practice indicate that the implementation of professionalism, professional ethics, and OHS standards in both spreading and potting activities falls within the very good category, with an average achievement score of 94%. Furthermore, the economic feasibility evaluation shows that the Benefit–Cost Ratio (BCR) of the reclamation project is 6.36 for the potting method and 2.22 for the spreading method. Therefore, it can be concluded that the potting method provides greater financial benefits to the company compared to the spreading method. The decision to choose the potting method was also based on environmental impact analysis and OHS considerations, which are essential parts of an engineer's professional ethics.
