Abstract

Mining businesses in Indonesia, particularly in the coal sector, experience several obstacles related to fluctuations in the Coal Reference Price (HBA), as well as government regulations which are actually good for the sustainability of the mining business in Indonesia. However, this regulation also suppresses profits of stakeholders (contractors, Mining Business License (IUP) owners, and brokers) in the coal mining business. Thus, efficiency and optimization of the mining process need to be encouraged so that profit loss can be covered by cost efficiency of coal production. Therefore, this study seeks to optimize production scheduling at PT. X so that production costs such as fuel, manhour, and so on can be reduced. The costs that exist in the coal mining contractor business process will later be calculated based on the present value to provide a better picture for PT. X about its profit from the business. This study also accommodates several important parameters for the mining process such as slope, regional rainfall frequency, and actual conditions in the field which are expected to make the optimization model more representative to be implemented in the field.
