Abstract
Ketersediaan bahan bakar minyak bumi yang semakin menipis diakibatkan penggunaan yang semakin meningkat menjadi salah satu alasan Pemerintah Indonesia membuat peraturan untuk menggunakan bahan bakar alternatif pengganti berupa biodiesel. Namun, biodiesel sendiri memiliki kekurangan yang perlu diperbaki, salah satunya penelitian yang telah dilakukan adalah dengan menambahkan bioaditif minyak sereh wangi pada biodiesel. Kualitas dari bahan bakar mempengaruhi proses pembakaran yang terjadi di dalam mesin. Proses pembakaran memengaruhi kebisingan dan getaran mesin diesel akibat tekanan yang tinggi di ruang bakar. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen untuk mengetahui kebisingan dan getaran yang dihasilkan mesin diesel satu silinder akibat penambahan minyak sereh sebagai bioaditif pada bahan bakar B30. Variasi penambahan minyak sereh wangi dilakukan pada komposisi 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25%, dan 1.5% dari volume bahan bakar Biodiesel. Selain itu, mesin diatur pada RPM 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800 dan 2000 serta dengan beban 1000 watt, 1500 watt, 2000 watt, 2500 watt, 3000 watt. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan minyak sereh wangi secara umum dapat meningkatkan engine performance berupa daya, torsi, dan SFOC. Dimana penambahan minyak sereh wangi yang optimal berada pada komposisi 1.25%. Sementara itu, dengan penambahan minyak sereh wangi pada B30 didapat hasil penurunan kebisingan sekitar 0.9-2.6% dan getaran sekitar 2.2-34% jika dibandingan dengan B30.

The dwindling availability of petroleum fuels due to increasing use is one of the reasons the Indonesian government makes regulations to use alternative fuels in the form of biodiesel. However, biodiesel has drawbacks that need to be improved, one of which is the research done by adding citronella oil bio additive to biodiesel. The quality of the fuel affects the combustion process in the engine. The combustion process affects the noise and vibration of the diesel engine due to the high pressure in the combustion chamber. This research was conducted experimentally to determine the noise and vibration produced by a single-cylinder diesel engine due to the addition of citronella oil as a bio additive to B30 fuel. Variations in the addition of citronella oil were carried out at the composition of 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25%, and 1.5% of the volume of biodiesel fuel. In addition, the engine is set at 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800, and 2000 RPM and with loads of 1000 watts, 1500 watts, 2000 watts, 2500 watts, and 3000 watts. The results obtained from this study are the addition of citronella oil, in general, can improve engine performance in the form of power, torque, and SFOC, where the optimal addition of citronella oil is at a composition of 1.25%. Meanwhile, with the addition of citronella oil to B30, the result is a reduction in noise of around 0.9-2.6% and vibration of around 2.2-34% compared to B30.
