Abstract

One of the weaknesses of the fishing boat class is that it does not require a heavy waste management installation (sewage) on board. This condition can lead to potential pollution and environmental damage. The processing is carried out to avoid marine pollution and reduce the quality of sea water. The existence of these problems must be recycled, namely a reprocessing of the gray water waste disposal system. In addition, the results of processing gray water waste on ships are expected to be reused for daily needs. The amount of grey water waste produced by fishing vessels and accompanied by the development of waste treatment technology such as the combination of anaerobic-aerobic biofilter which is then penetrated for water cleanliness, allows the output water to be reprocessed for non-consumable purposes so as to save water filling at the port. The mechanism of this system is that gray water waste is deposited and then enters the anaerobic-aerobic biofilter combination processing and then penetrates using chlorination disinfection for the feasibility of fresh water. From the analysis of the calculation of the need for cfreshater that has been carried out, it shows that the need for freshwater is 19040 liters. Meanwhile, the fresh water tank planning provided on the 100 GT Longliner Fishing Vessel is only 15000 liters. From the analysis of the laying of the system, there is 1 combined anaerobic-aerobic biofilter that can be installed with a capacity of 1 m3 of water which can be reprocessed every day. So that it can be reused for needs on board. By applying this grey water processing system, it can meet the needs of freshwater on board during the voyage.
