Abstract

PLTAL is a floating structure or platform used for offshore marine energy exploration activities. The design of the Ocean Current Power Plant (PLTAL) generally consists of a turbine and a mooring system to keep the platform in position due to environmental loads, wind, currents, and waves. The research carried out by the author is to analyze the PLTAL movement in the wave directions of 0, 45, 90, 135, and 180 degrees in the Surge, Sway, Heave, Roll, Pitch and Yaw movements. Furthermore, a Mooring Line is carried out on PLTAL in order to reduce the movement of the ship when it is in the middle of the sea. From the results obtained in the free floating state simulation, the highest surge value is 7.03 wave direction 0 and 180 °, largest Sway 7.03 m/m, Heave 1.61 m/m, Roll 14.36 m/m, Pitch 27.93 deg/m, and Yaw 11.45 deg. /m. Then the results of the tension of the mooring rope made of polyester, wire rope, and chain can meet the Safety Factor rules of API RP 2SK. In reducing the movement of the pontoon due to environmental loads, chain material is obtained because it has a higher frequency of movement reduction.
