Abstract
Mikroalga merupakan salah satu biomassa yang memiliki produktivitas menghasilkan bioetanol mencapai 46.760-140.290 L/ha. Pemanenan mikroalga dengan teknik yang tepat diperlukan untuk mendapat mikroalga dengan konsentrasi tinggi. Teknik filtrasi dengan membran dapat dipilih sebagai alternatif untuk pemanenan mikroalga karena memiliki kelebihan, diantaranya mampu mempertahankan biomassa hingga 100% dan konsumsi energinya rendah. Teknik filtrasi dengan membran memiliki kelemahan yaitu terjadi penyumbatan pada membran selama proses pemanenan. Upaya untuk mengatasi penyumbatan membran dilakukan dengan pencucian membran menggunakan sodium hipoklorit (NaClO) dan asam sitrat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mempelajari kinerja membran PVDF/LiCl dan PVDF/LiCl/KKZ setelah pencucian sebanyak lima siklus dan mempelajari pengaruh larutan pencucian pada membran tersebut. Pencucian membran dilakukan setelah melalui pemanenan mikroalga D. salina. Mikroalga D. salina diperoleh melalui proses kultivasi selama 10 hari. Membran PVDF/LiCl/KKZ telah diteliti dan dihasilkan fluks pada pemanenan mikroalga D. salina sebesar 60 L/m2h dan membran PVDF/LiCl menghasilkan fluks sebesar 48,8 L/m2h. Pencucian membran PVDF/LiCl/KKZ hingga lima siklus pada pencucian larutan NaClO diperoleh flux recovery sebesar 91% dengan rejeksi sebesar 92% sedangkan pada pencucian asam sitrat diperoleh flux recovery sebesar 73% dengan rejeksi 94%. Selain itu, kinerja pencucian membran PVDF/LiCl pada pencucian larutan NaClO diperoleh flux recovery sebesar 91% dengan rejeksi sebesar 92% sedangkan pada pencucian larutan asam sitrat diperoleh flux recovery sebesasr 62% dengan rejeksi sebesar 94%.

Microalgae is one of the biomasses that has a productivity of producing bioethanol reaching 46,760-140,290 L/ha. Harvesting microalgae with the right technique is needed to get high concentrations of microalgae. Membrane filtration technique can be chosen as an alternative for harvesting microalgae because it has advantages, including being able to maintain up to 100% biomass and low energy consumption. The membrane filtration technique has the disadvantage that there is a blockage in the membrane during the harvesting process. Efforts to overcome membrane blockage were carried out by cleaning the membrane using sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) and citric acid. The purpose of this study was to study the performance of PVDF/LiCl and PVDF/LiCl/KKZ membranes after five cycles of cleaning and to study the effect of the cleaning solution on the membranes. The membrane cleaning was carried out after harvesting D. salina microalgae. Microalgae D. salina was obtained through a cultivation process for 10 days. PVDF/LiCl/KKZ membranes have been investigated and the resulting flux in the harvesting of microalgae D. salina is 60 L/m2h and PVDF/LiCl membranes produced a flux of 48.8 L/m2h. Cleaning the PVDF/LiCl/KKZ membrane for up to five cycles in cleaning the NaClO solution obtained a flux recovery of 91% with a rejection of 92% while in cleaning of citric acid solution obtained flux recovery of 73% with rejection of 94%. In addition, the cleaning performance PVDF/LiCl membrane on cleaning NaClO solution obtained flux recovery of 91% with rejection of 92% while in cleaning of citric acid solution obtained flux recovery of 62% with rejection of 94%.
