Abstract

Green synthesis of MIL-100(Fe) and composite zeolite NaY/MIL-100(Fe) without adding the hidroflouric acid were successfully synthesized by hydrothermal methode at 160 °C for 12 hours using autoclave. Composite materials of Zeolite NaY/MIL-100(Fe) with addition of zeolite NaY mass towards MIL-100(Fe) of 5, 10, and 20% were denoted as ZNY(5)/MIL- 100(Fe), ZNY(10)/MIL-100(Fe), and ZNY(20)/MIL-100(Fe) respectively. The result materials were characterized using XRD, FTIR, and SEM-EDX for further investigation. The XRD diffractogram showed characteristic peak that matched with MIL-100(Fe) standard. FTIR spectra of synthesized materials showed the same adsorption bands of MIL-100(Fe) that has been reported and the composite also exhibit adsorption bands similar with MIL-100(Fe) and zeolite NaY standard. The morphology of MIL-100(Fe) and ZNY(20)/MIL-100(Fe) exhibit the irregular octahedral shape with small spherical on the surface of materials indicate the formation of iron oxide. Methylene blue adsorption results revealed that composite ZNY(20)/MIL-100(Fe) has the highest adsorption capacity of 116,245 mg/g, followed the pseudo second-order kinetic model and Freundlich adsorption isothermal.
