Abstract
Pada penelitian ini adsorpsi ion Cr(VI) menggunakan adsorben dari jerami padi (Oryza Sativa) dengan NaOH sebagai aktivator. Adsorpsi dilakukan dengan metode batch untuk menentukan kondisi optimum pH dan waktu kontak. Variasi pH mulai dari 1 hingga 2. Filtrat hasil adsorpsi diukur dengan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom pada panjang gelombang maksimum 357,9 nm. Adsorpsi optimum terjadi pada pH 2 dan waktu kontak 120 menit dengan persentase pengurangan ion Cr(VI) sebesar 84,20%. Serbuk jerami padi, adsorben jerami padi, adsorben teraktivasi NaOH dan adsorben setelah adsorpsi dikarakterisasi menggunakan FTIR.

In this study adsorption of Cr(VI) using an adsorbent from rice straw (Oryza Sativa) with NaOH as an activator. Adsorption was carried out using the batch method to determine the optimum conditions for pH and contact time. The pH was varied from 1 to 2. The adsorption filtrate was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer at a maximum wavelength of 357.9 nm. The optimum adsorption occurred at pH 2 and at a contact time of 120 minutes with the reduction of Cr(VI) ion at 84.20%. Rice straw powder, rice straw adsorbent, NaOH activated adsorbent and adsorbent after adsorption was characterized using FTIR.
