Abstract

Sodium hidroksida (NaOH) juga dikenal sebagai soda kaustik yang merupakan jenis basa logam kaustik. Sodium hidroksida biasanya dijual dalam bentuk larutan jenuh 50%. Soda kaustik ini sangat memiliki peran penting dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Konsumsi utamanya dapat digunakan dalam industri contohnya dalam Crude Palm Oil Plant, pabrik kertas, pabrik sabun, dan industri tekstil. Berdasarkan data dari Badan Pusat Statistik, bila diproyeksikan, kebutuhan soda kaustik nasional pada tahun 2025 akan mencapai sekitar 17,98 juta ton/tahun dengan total produksi sebesar 5,12 ton/tahun. Oleh karena itu, pabrik NaOH dan Asam Hipoklorit dari Garam Industri ini didirikan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan di Indonesia. Pabrik ini akan didirikan dengan kapasitas 100.000 ton/tahun di Gresik, Jawa Timur. Proses utama dalam pembuatan soda kaustik ini dalah menggunakan elektrolisis membrane yang dimulai dengan proses pelarutan garam industri agar menjadi larutan. Lalu, akan dilakukan proses purifikasi dan filtrasi pada brine agar menghilangkan pengotor sehingga brine memenuhi spefisikasi standar untuk proses elektrolisis. Proses selanjutnya yaitu elektrolisis membran yang akan menghasilkan produk berupa larutan NaOH 33%. Soda kaustik akan diproses lebih lanjut untuk dipekatkan menggunakan bantuan double effect evaporator sehingga mencapai 50 wt-%. Selain NaOH, terdapat produk samping yang dihasilkan yaitu berupa HClO. HClO diproduksi menggunakan proses reaksi dengan steam dan proses absorbs dengan air. Dari studi evaluasi ekonomi pabrik ini, disimpulkan bahwa dapat didapatkan penaksiran modal (CAPEX) sebesar Rp 667.484.361.287; biaya (OPEX) sebesar Rp 1.020.227.412.612. Estimasi umur pabrik adalah 20 tahun dan waktu pengembalian pinjaman sekiranya selama 4,5 tahun. Berdasarkan analisa ekonomi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik Natrium Hidroksida dengan kapasitas 100.000 ton/tahun adalah beresiko sedang dan layak secara ekonomis. Dari perhitungan yang telah dilakukan, IRR diperoleh sebesar 40,75%, POT selama 4 tahun 7 bulan, dengan BEP sebesar 23%. NPV yang didapatkan juga bernilai positif yaitu Rp 3.102.427.752.199. Dari data analisa kelayakan diatas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pabrik ini menguntungkan dan layak untuk didirikan.

Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) also known as caustic soda is a type of caustic metallic base. Sodium hydroxide is usually sold in the form of a 50% saturated solution. Caustic soda has a very important role in everyday life. Its main consumption can be used in industry for example in the Crude Palm Oil Plant, paper mill, soap factory, and textile industry. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, if projected, the national demand for caustic soda in 2025 will reach around 17.98 million tons/year with a total production of 5.12 tons/year. Therefore, the NaOH and Hypochlorous Acid Plant from Industrial Salt was established to meet the needs in Indonesia. This plant will be established with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year in Gresik, East Java. The main process in the manufacture of caustic soda is using membrane electrolysis which begins with the process of dissolving industrial salts into solutions. Then, a purification and filtration process will be carried out on the brine to remove impurities so that the brine meets the standard specifications for the electrolysis process. The next process is membrane electrolysis which will produce a product in the form of a 33% NaOH solution. Caustic soda will be further processed to be concentrated using the help of a double effect evaporator so that it reaches 50 wt-%. In addition to NaOH, there is a by-product in the form of HClO. HClO is produced using a reaction process with steam and an absorption process with water. From this plant’s economic evaluation study, it was concluded that the estimated capital (CAPEX) was Rp 667,484,361,287; costs (OPEX) of Rp 1,020,227,412,612. The estimated lifetime of the plant is 20 years and the loan repayment period is 4.5 years. Based on the economic analysis, it can be concluded that the Sodium Hydroxide plant with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year is of moderate risk and economically feasible. From the calculations that have been done, the IRR was obtained at 40.75%, POT for 4 years 7 months, with a BEP of 23%. The NPV obtained is also positive, namely Rp. 3,102,427,752,199. From the feasibility analysis data above, it can be concluded that this plant is profitable and feasible to establish.
