Abstract

Judul penelitian ini adalah mikronisasi partikel ekstrak daun kumis kucing, daun sambiloto, dan daun dewa dengan metode electrospraying dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan masing-masing polimer terhadap pembentukan partikel saat electrospraying dan pengaruh kondisi operasi terhadap karakterisasi partikel yang terbentuk. Adapun proses penelitian ini adalah daun kumis kucing, daun sambiloto, dan daun dewa diekstrak dengan ekstrasi subkritis menggunakan pelarut berupa air. Setelah itu, hasilnya yang berupa ekstrak dicampur dengan polimer dan kemudian dilakukan proses electrospray. Pada tahap akhir, hasil dari electrospray tersebut dianalisa. Pada penelitian ini, digunakan 4 metode analisa yaitu Total Phenolic Compound (TPC), Total Flavonoid Compound (TFC), Antioksidan, dan Fourirer Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Adapun polimer yang digunakan ada 3, yaitu PolivynilPirolidon (PVP), Chitosan, dan Starch. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, diperoleh hasil kondisi operasi terhadap yield partikel dengan menggunakan tiga voltase, yaitu 14,16, dan 18 kV berupa terbentuknya taylor cone. Adapun perbedaan massa partikel dan tekstur hasil electrospray disebabkan karena perbedaan konduktivitas pada setiap larutan. Kondisi operasi tersebut, juga berpengaruh terhadap Total Phenolic Compound (TPC) dan Total Flavonoid Compound (TFC), di mana setiap larutan memiliki jarak optimum yang berbeda-beda. Kemudian, dari penelitian ini juga diperoleh pengaruh kondisi operasi terhadap kandungan antioksidan, dan hasil menunjukkan bahwa daun kumis kucing memiliki kandungan antioksidan yang tertinggi. Lalu, untuk hasil Analisa FTIR menunjukkan bahwa proses electrospray tidak merusakan kandungan senyawa fitokimia yang terkandung di dalam ekstrak daun kumis kucing, daun sambiloto, dan daun dewa pada variable polimer PVP dan chitosan. Akan tetapi memberikan dampak besar ketika menggunakan polimer starch.

The title of this research is the micronization of the extracts Orthosiphon aristatus, Andrographis paniculate (Burm. F) Ness, and Gynura segetum by electrospraying method to know the effect of adding each polymer to the formation of particles during electrospraying and the impact of operating conditions on the characterization of the particles formed. This research process is Orthosiphon aristatus, Andrographis paniculate (Burm. F) Ness, and Gynura segetum extracted by subcritical extraction using a solvent in the form of water. After that, the result in the form of the extract is mixed with polymer and then carried out the electrospray process. In the final stage, the results of the electrospray are analyzed. In this study, 4 analytical methods were used, namely Total Phenolic Compound (TPC), Total Flavonoid Compound (TFC), Antioxidants, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). There are 3 polymers used, namely PolivynilPyrolidone (PVP), Chitosan, and Starch. Based on the research conducted, the results obtained from operating conditions on particle yield using three voltages, namely 14,16, and 18 kV in the form of the formation of a Taylor cone. The differences in particle mass and texture of the electrospray results are caused by differences in the conductivity of each solution. These operating conditions also affect the Total Phenolic Compound (TPC) and Total Flavonoid Compound (TFC), where each solution has a different optimum distance. Then, this study also obtained the effect of operating conditions on the antioxidant content, and the results showed that the cat's whiskers leaf had the highest antioxidant content. Then, the results of the FTIR analysis showed that the electrospray process did not damage the content of phytochemical compounds contained in the extract of Orthosiphon aristatus, Andrographis paniculate (Burm. F) Ness, and Gynura segetum on PVP and chitosan polymer variables. However, it has a significant impact when using starch polymers.
