Abstract

Vibrastic Dodecahedrin with three dimensions has been designed in previous research which is used as a sound source in acoustic measurements. In this final project, analysis of directivity parameters, frequency response and sound pressure has been done to determine the effect of driver speaker performance on polyhedral loudspeaker performance by measuring driver speaker, and simulation of polyhedral loudspeakers other than dodecahedron with a size of 2.5 inches to determine the radiation pattern. The 5 inch speaker driver produces an omnidirectional pattern at a frequency of 125 Hz – 250 Hz and is capable of producing 61 dBA – 96 dBA with a flat response at a frequency of 2000 Hz - 4000 H. For the 4 inch speaker driver produces an omnidirectional pattern at a frequency of 500 Hz and capable of producing 55 dBA – 92 dBA with a flat response at a frequency of 4000 Hz to 8000 Hz. The 2.5 inch speaker driver produces a directional pattern and capable of producing 59 dBA – 83 dBA with a flat response that occurs in the 1000 Hz to 2000 Hz frequency range. The simulation results of a polyhedral loudspeaker with a 2.5 inch speaker driver shows that the hexahedron produces better performance as an omnidirectional source compared to other forms. In this research a calculation also has been conducted to predict error that will be produced by loudspeaker polyhedral using the uncertainty of the driver speaker measurements. It shows that the smallest error accumulation prediction on the loudspeaker is tetrahedron with 5 inch driver speakers and produces an error of 0.4%.
