Abstract

Java is the most populous island in the world. Data from BPS states that its population growth reach 167,325,600 people by 2035. Many residents areundoubtedly directly proportional to the number of fossil fuel vehicles, land conversion, and the reduced vegetation environment. From several studies that have been carried out, there are several types of vegetation that can reduce CO (carbon monoxide) pollutant levels to the maximum. Several studies conduct studies and analyses on plant estimates for CO pollutant absorption. In this study, a study was conducted to determine the relationship between CO and vegetation represented by NDVI. The study was conducted using CO data from Sentinel-5P for 3 years, NDVI and land cover data from MODIS data. This research will yield the spatial and temporal correlation between NDVI and carbon monoxide. In addition, the spatial and temporal correlation yielded is based on the land cover too. From this study it was found that the monthly temporal correlation with the median between NDVI and CO resulted in a correlation coefficient of -0.603 and was classified as a strong correlation, but there were several months that experienced confusion so that it could not be said that there was a significant effect between NDVI and CO. When tested with monthly temporal correlation, it was found that the highest correlation was in April 2021 with a correlation coefficient of -0.497 and the lowest correlation was in December 2020 with a correlation coefficient of -0.033. Here, an anomaly occurs where in November 2021 there is a positive correlation. The existence of this anomaly is possible because of the influence of data variations that result in data inconsistencies. From this study, it was found that the relationship between cloud cover and NDVI was -0.231, which means that the influence of clouds on the NDVI value was not significant. In addition, a correlation test was conducted between carbon monoxide data and rainfall and resulted in a correlation coefficient of -0.169 which means that the effect of rainfall on carbon monoxide data is not significant. Then, testing was also carried out using the Local Bivariate Relationship (Spatial Statistics) method, where in this study it was found that the linear negative relationship was always greater than the positive linear although the difference was not significant, namely 12.24%, 4.19%, and 4 ,68%. With this method also, it was found that the largest type of relationship between NDVI and carbon monoxide was undefined complex with 35.70%, 35.02%, and 35.20% which means that the relationship between NDVI and carbon monoxide has a significant relationship, but cannot categorized with the other four types of relationships.
