Abstract

During the rainy season, Cerme District is one of the areas affected by flooding from the overflow of Lamong River. High rainfall and not being matched by the capacity of the Kali Lamong River are the main factors. So it is necessary to plan or storage calculation. An important parameter in the calculation, namely the value of the flow coefficient, has a role as an indicator of surface runoff. The value of the flow coefficient is influenced by the slope, land use, rainfall intensity, surface storage and soil infiltration. The research was conducted in Cerme District, aiming to determine the value of the flow coefficient as the basis for calculating surface runoff. Determination of value using the Bransby-Williams method using image data and field test data. Image data is used to calculate slope parameters, land use, rainfall intensity and surface storage. While the field data, an infiltration test was carried out using a double ring infiltrometer to get the value of the infiltration rate and a sieve test to get the soil texture. All data from each parameter are intersected to obtain the flow coefficient value. The results of the flow coefficient in the study area are 50% covering an area of 0.18 km2 including the normal category, 51-75% of 1.5 km2 including the high category and 76-100% covering an area of 9.2 km2 including the extreme category. For the overall average value of the flow coefficient of 65.7% is included in the high value. Water that runs off to the surface is 65.7% while that which is successfully absorbed or stored in the ground is 34.3%. Further treatment is needed to overcome the runoff water flow in the area.
