Abstract

Di era pandemi bermain game online menjadi solusi menghilangkan kejenuhan karena mengikuti protokol kesehatan dimana antara individu tidak bisa berinteraksi sosial, hal ini merupakan peluang bagi industri game dan khususnya pengembang game. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perbandingan sosial terhadap keberlanjutan niat bermain game online melalui efikasi diri dan kesenangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan menyebarkankuesioner secara online pada pengguna game online dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis jalur (path analysis) dengan software SPSS, serta dilakukan uji kevalidan kuesionernya. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa, Perbandingan sosial baik perbandingan keatas maupun perbandingan kebawah berpengaruh terhadap perilaku keberlanjutan bermain game online melalui efikasi diri dan perasaan senang, meskipun sebelumnya sempat efikasi diri tidak mempunyai pengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku berkelanjutan bermain game online serta perbandingan keatas juga tidak berpengaruh terhadap perasaan senang. Namun setelah semua variabel melalui perasaan senang, semua mempengaruhi perilaku bermain game berkelanjutan. Perbandingan sosial keatas maupun kebawah dengan mengutamakan elemen perasaan senang memiliki implikasi teoritis maupun praktis bagi pengembang game online kedepannya.

Playing online games in the pandemic era is a solution to eliminate boredom because it follows health protocols where individuals cannot have social interactions, this is an opportunity for the game industry and especially game developers. This study aims to analyze the effect of social comparison on the sustainability of online game intention through self-efficacy and enjoyment. The method used is by distributing online questionnaires to online game users and analyzed by path analysis using SPSS software, and testing the validity of the questionnaire. The results of the analysis show that, social comparisons, both upward and downward comparisons, have an influence on the sustainability behavior of playing online games through self-efficacy and feelings of enjoyment, although previously self-efficacy did not have a significant effect on sustainable behavior playing online games and upward comparisons also had no effect on feeling of enjoyment. But then all variables through the feeling of enjoyment, all affect the behavior of playing games continuously. Social comparisons, both upward and downward comparisons, that prioritize the element of pleasure have both theoretical and practical implications for online game developers in the future.
