Abstract

Veterinary telemedicine is one of the services that has emerged as an innovation in the field of animal health which can make it easier for pet owners to conduct animal health consultations without having to go to a clinic directly. However, the acceptance of this technology by pet owners in Indonesia is still relatively low. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence pet owners' intention to use veterinary telemedicine services using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. The variables used in this study include Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, and additional variables, namely Trust, Pet-Owner Relationship, and Perceived Risk. This study uses a quantitative method with a survey approach distributed to pet owners in Indonesia. The collected data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results of the study show that Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Trust have a significant effect on behavioral intention to use veterinary telemedicine services. Meanwhile, Facilitating Conditions, Pet-Owner Relationship, and Perceived Risk do not have a significant influence on behavioral intention. This research provides insights for veterinary telemedicine service providers to improve service quality and build user trust to increase technology adoption in the field of animal health.
