Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the world and Indonesia since early 2020 has changed the order of human life. The Indonesian government is trying to break the chain of COVID-19 spread by launching the PeduliLindungi application as a digital contact tracing tool. However, the usage level of the PeduliLindungi application has not reached the expected target, especially in big cities like Semarang. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting the intention to use the PeduliLindungi application using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model. The variables used in this study include Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, and additional variables, namely Trust and Perceived Risk. Data were collected through an online survey with 400 respondents using the PeduliLindungi application in Semarang City. The data analysis method used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of SmartPLS software. The results show that Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, and Trust have a significant positive effect on the intention to use. Meanwhile, Effort Expectancy and Facilitating Conditions also have a positive effect on the intention to use, but Perceived Risk has a significant negative effect on the intention to use. This study provides insights for the government and application developers to increase the adoption of the PeduliLindungi application by paying attention to user trust aspects and minimizing perceived risks.
