Abstract
PT Samba Moda Utama menjadi salah satu pabrikan komponen otomotif yang fokus pada produksi Tube Drain. Sebagai pabrikan komponen yang dipercaya untuk turut memenuhi permintaan komponen kendaraan, PT Samba Moda Utama harus mempertahankan dan terus meningkatkan kualitas produk yang diproduksi dengan melakukan pengendalian kualitas. Dalam tugas akhir ini akan dilakukan penelitian pada tiga karakteristik kualitas terkait parameter spesifikasi Tube Drain yang diduga berkaitan satu sama lain yakni diameter luar, diameter dalam, serta panjang dari Tube Drain. Penelitian dimulai dengan mendeteksi adanya perbedaan antara produksi pada sif siang dan malam kemudian dilanjutkan dengan melakukan pengendalian variabilitas proses menggunakan diagram kontrol Generalized Variance dan MEWMV. Setelah variabilitas terkendali, penelitian dilanjutkan dengan melakukan pengendalian mean proses menggunakan bantuan diagram kontrol T2 Hotelling, MEWMA, robust T2 Hotelling, dan robust MEWMA berbasis winsorized modified one-step M-estimator (MOM) yang kemudian kinerja dari keempat diagram kontrol ini akan dibandingkan. Hasil pengontrolan mean proses dengan menggunakan diagram kontrol T2 Hotelling tidak mendeteksi adanya pengamatan yang out of control pada data pengamatan fase 1. Pengontrolan mean proses menggunakan diagram kontrol MEWMA dengan pembobot optimum λ=0,4 berhasil mendeteksi adanya 11 pengamatan yang out of control. Diagram kontrol robust T2 Hotelling lebih mampu mendeteksi out of control dibanding diagram kontrol T2 Hotelling tradisional dengan mendeteksi sebanyak 7 pengamatan yang berada di luar batas kontrol. Sedangkan pengontrolan mean proses menggunakan diagram kontrol robust MEWMA dengan pembobot optimum yang sama berhasil mendeteksi 69 pengamatan yang out of control. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa diagram kontrol robust, baik robust T2 Hotelling maupun robust MEWMA, lebih mampu mendeteksi pengamatan out of control. Namun, penggunaan diagram kontrol robust MEWMA dengan λ=0,4 pada data pengamatan fase 2 justru menghasilkan diagram yang oversensitive. Setelah didapat data pengamatan yang variabilitas serta mean prosesnya sudah terkendali, selanjutnya dilakukan pengukuran kapabilitas proses secara multivariat melalui indeks MCp dan MCpk. Indeks kapabilitas proses diperoleh dengan memperhitungkan korelasi antar karakteristik kualitas yakni berdasarkan analisis komponen utama (PCA). Menggunakan 2 komponen utama berdasarkan hasil scree plot. Disimpulkan bahwa ketiga karakteristik kualitas yang terpilih pada proses produksi di PT Samba Moda Utama sudah memenuhi spesifikasi yang ditentukan oleh perusahaan.

Samba Moda Utama Inc. is one of the automotive component manufacturers that focuses on Tube Drain production. As a trusted component manufacturer for vehicle components, Samba Moda Utama Inc. must maintain and improve the quality of the production process by carrying out quality control. In this final project, the researcher will take three quality characteristics of the Tube Drain specification parameters suspected to be related to each other: outer diameter, inner diameter, and length of the Tube Drain. The study began by detecting differences between production in the day and night shifts and then controlled the variability process using Generalized Variance and MEWMV control charts. After the variability was under control, the study continued by controlling the mean process using the help of T2 Hotelling, MEWMA, robust T2 Hotelling, and robust MEWMA control charts based on winsorized modified one-step M-estimators (MOM). Then the performance of these four control charts will be compared. The mean process controlling using the T2 Hotelling control chart did not detect any out of control observations in phase 1. Controlling the mean of the process using the MEWMA control chart with optimum weighting successfully detected the presence of 11 observations that were out of control. The T2 Hotelling robust control chart was more sensitive to detect out of control than the traditional T2 Hotelling control chart by detecting 7 observations that were out of control. Meanwhile, controlling the mean process using a MEWMA robust control chart with the exact optimum weighting managed to detect 69 observations that were out of control. It proves that the robust control charts, even robust T2 Hotelling and robust MEWMA, both are better for detecting out of control. However, the robust MEWMA control chart generates an oversensitive chart in phase 2. After the variability and mean of the process have been controlled, multivariate measurement of capabilities process using the MCp and MCpk indices. The multivariate measurement of capabilities process considers the correlation between quality characteristics based on the Principle Component Analysis (PCA). Using two main components based on the results of the scree plot. Based on the capability index used, it is concluded that the three selected quality characteristics from Tube Drain production at PT Samba Moda Utama already fulfill the specifications determined by the company.
