Abstract

Tuberculosis is a contagious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis through the air. Tuberculosis usually attacks the lungs, but can also affect other parts of the body such as the pleura, lymph nodes, bones, and other extrapulmonary organs. Currently, tuberculosis in East Java ranks second in Indonesia. To address this, spatial effects modeling is needed by considering geographical conditions in East Java, using the MGWR method. The ratio of tuberculosis sufferers with the highest ratio is in Madiun city, and the lowest in Mojokerto regency. The GWR model concludes that a significant population density factor is included in the model for all districts/cities. The MGWR model concludes that influential global variables are included in the model for each district/city, while significant local variables in some districts/cities are the percentage of poor families, the percentage of the productive age population 15-54 years, the percentage of households with clean and healthy living behavior, the percentage of residents with access to proper sanitation, and population density. The best modeling results using the MGWR method formed seven groups of districts/cities based on variables that had a significant effect on the ratio of tuberculosis sufferers in all districts/cities of East Java Province. The AIC and R2 criteria indicate that the GWR method is appropriate for modeling the tuberculosis ratio in each district/city of East Java Province, compared to MGWR which has more optimal AIC and R2.
