Abstract

Bengkulu Province has significant gold mineralization potential because it is located on the Sunda-Banda magmatic arc, which is controlled by the Sumatran Fault System. This study aims to identify ephitermal gold alteration zones, particularly low-sulfidation type in the “IAD” area using dipole-dipole configuration resistivity and induced polarization (IP) geophysical methods. The data consist of 5 survey lines with a total length of 4000 meters. Data processing was carried out through robust 2D inversionfollowed by 3D interpolation for horizontal slicing at 20 meter depth intervals and 3D isosurface extraction. The 2D inversion results show that resistivity values in the study area range from 0.937 to 7531.3 ohm.m, while chargeability values range from 0.352 to 538.77 msec. Based on the correlation of these two parameters, three main alteration zones were identified within the andesitic breccia host rock of the Hulusimpang Formation, namely argillic, propylitic, and silisification zones. Through plan view delineation and isosurface analysis from depth of 0 to 80 meters, the main prospective zone of gold mineralization is characterized by high resistivity values (>700 ohm.m) and high chargeability (>20 msec), reflecting the presence of quartz veins and intensive silisification containing gold-bearing sulfide minerals. The delineation result from plan view and 3D isosurface indicate that the mineralization zone is oriented northwest-southeast, consistent with the direction of the Ketahun Fault and the regional lineament pattern. These finding confirm the role of geological structures as the primary controllers of hydrothermal fluid migration pathways at the study site.
