Abstract

Induced Draft Fan (ID Fan) merupakan salah satu peralatan bantu utama pada sistem pembakaran Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) yang berfungsi menghisap gas hasil pembakaran dari furnace menuju cerobong sehingga tekanan negatif di dalam boiler tetap terjaga. Penurunan performa ID Fan akibat keausan komponen maupun fouling dapat meningkatkan konsumsi energi listrik dan menurunkan efisiensi operasi pembangkit. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan evaluasi performa sebelum dan sesudah proses overhaul untuk mengetahui efektivitas kegiatan pemeliharaan tersebut. Laporan magang ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan performa Induced Draft Fan 1A dan 1B pada Unit 1 PT. PLN Nusantara Power UP Pacitan sebelum dan sesudah overhaul. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan data performance test yang diperoleh pada kondisi full load dengan parameter berupa arus listrik, kapasitas aliran udara, tekanan total, Water Horse Power (WHP), Brake Horse Power (BHP), dan efisiensi fan. Perhitungan dilakukan berdasarkan standar ASME Performance Test Code (PTC) 11 untuk fan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa setelah overhaul terjadi penurunan konsumsi arus listrik pada ID Fan 1A dari rata-rata 174,59 A menjadi 143,99 A, sedangkan pada ID Fan 1B dari 189,76 A menjadi 144,90 A. Nilai tekanan total mengalami penurunan, namun masih berada dalam rentang operasi yang diizinkan, yaitu dari 3748,52 Pa menjadi 3103,24 Pa pada ID Fan 1A dan dari 3656,88 Pa menjadi 3485,74 Pa pada ID Fan 1B. Dari sisi efisiensi, ID Fan 1A mengalami peningkatan dari 71,40% menjadi 71,57%, sedangkan ID Fan 1B meningkat secara signifikan dari 66,70% menjadi 77,35%. Peningkatan efisiensi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa proses overhaul berhasil memperbaiki performa fan melalui kegiatan pembersihan sistem, penggantian komponen yang mengalami keausan, penyetelan clearance, serta perbaikan pada sistem pendukung lainnya.

The Induced Draft Fan (ID Fan) is one of the primary auxiliary components in a coal-fired power plant combustion system. Its main function is to extract flue gas from the furnace to the stack while maintaining negative pressure inside the boiler. Performance degradation caused by component wear, fouling, or prolonged operation can increase electrical energy consumption and reduce overall plant efficiency. Therefore, performance evaluation before and after overhaul is essential to assess the effectiveness of maintenance activities. This industrial internship report aims to analyze the performance changes of Induced Draft Fan 1A and 1B at Unit 1 of PT PLN Nusantara Power UP Pacitan before and after the overhaul process. The analysis was conducted using performance test data obtained under full-load operating conditions. The evaluated parameters included electric current, airflow capacity, total pressure, Water Horse Power (WHP), Brake Horse Power (BHP), and fan efficiency. Performance calculations were carried out in accordance with the ASME Performance Test Code (PTC) 11 for fans. The results indicate that the overhaul successfully reduced electrical current consumption in ID Fan 1A from an average of 174.59 A to 143.99 A, while ID Fan 1B decreased from 189.76 A to 144.90 A. The total pressure generated by both fans decreased but remained within the acceptable operating range, with ID Fan 1A decreasing from 3748.52 Pa to 3103.24 Pa and ID Fan 1B from 3656.88 Pa to 3485.74 Pa. In terms of efficiency, ID Fan 1A increased slightly from 71.40% to 71.57%, whereas ID Fan 1B showed a significant improvement from 66.70% to 77.35%. These results demonstrate that the overhaul effectively restored fan performance through system cleaning, replacement of worn components, clearance adjustment, and maintenance of supporting equipment, leading to improved operational efficiency.
