Abstract

Magang industri ini dilaksanakan di PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER), khususnya pada Unit Utilitas yang menangani proses pengolahan air limbah dan produksi air bersih melalui sistem Water Treatment Plant (WTP). Kegiatan magang bertujuan untuk memahami proses pengolahan air, sistem perawatan mesin industri, serta permasalahan yang terjadi pada pompa multistage di sistem ultrafiltrasi dan reverse osmosis. Tugas khusus dalam laporan ini membahas prediksi umur bearing SKF 6309 2Z pada motor listrik pompa multistage ultrafiltration. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, studi literatur, pengambilan data spesifikasi motor listrik, pompa, dan bearing, serta analisis perhitungan beban poros, beban ekivalen, dan umur teoritis bearing. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, bearing SKF 6309 2Z memiliki umur teoritis sebesar 29.359 jam kerja pada putaran konstan 2940 rpm. Dengan mempertimbangkan selisih antara umur aktual dan teoritis bearing sebelumnya, umur aktual bearing SKF 6309 2Z diperkirakan sebesar 23.835 jam kerja. Perbedaan umur tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor operasional di lapangan, seperti korosi akibat paparan air, ketidaktepatan pemasangan bearing, serta kondisi kerja pompa yang berlangsung secara terus-menerus. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penerapan perawatan preventif, inspeksi berkala, serta perlindungan bearing dari paparan air agar umur pakai bearing lebih optimal.

This industrial internship was conducted at PT Surabaya Industrial Estate Rungkut (SIER), particularly in the Utility Unit, which manages wastewater treatment and clean water production through the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) system. The internship aimed to understand the water treatment process, industrial machine maintenance systems, and operational problems occurring in multistage pumps used in ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis systems. The special topic of this report focuses on predicting the service life of the SKF 6309 2Z bearing installed in the electric motor of a multistage ultrafiltration pump. The methods used in this study included field observation, literature study, data collection of electric motor, pump, and bearing specifications, as well as calculation analysis of shaft load, equivalent bearing load, and theoretical bearing life. Based on the calculation results, the SKF 6309 2Z bearing has a theoretical service life of 29,359 operating hours at a constant rotational speed of 2940 rpm. By considering the difference between the actual and theoretical life of the previous bearing, the estimated actual service life of the SKF 6309 2Z bearing is 23,835 operating hours. This difference may be affected by field operating conditions, such as corrosion due to water exposure, improper bearing installation, and continuous pump operation. Therefore, preventive maintenance, periodic inspection, and proper bearing protection from water exposure are necessary to optimize bearing service life.
