Abstract
Magang industri merupakan salah satu bentuk pembelajaran yang bertujuan memberikan pengalaman kerja secara langsung kepada mahasiswa serta meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai penerapan ilmu teknik di dunia industri. Kegiatan magang ini dilaksanakan di PT Avia Avian Tbk selama lima bulan, mulai Februari hingga Juni 2025, pada Divisi Engineering Project dan Maintenance. Selama pelaksanaan magang, mahasiswa terlibat dalam berbagai kegiatan, seperti observasi proses produksi, pemeliharaan mesin, perancangan menggunakan perangkat lunak CAD, penyusunan Rencana Anggaran Biaya (RAB), serta pengembangan proyek perbaikan mesin.Tugas khusus yang dilaksanakan adalah modifikasi mesin filling cat multidimensi untuk meningkatkan fleksibilitas proses pengisian berbagai ukuran kaleng. Modifikasi dilakukan dengan merancang mekanisme centered grip sebagai sistem penjepit otomatis agar posisi kaleng selalu berada pada titik tengah mesin, serta melakukan perubahan pada sistem storage tank dengan menambahkan penggerak berupa electric motor untuk membantu proses pengadukan material sehingga kualitas campuran tetap homogen selama proses produksi. Perancangan dilakukan melalui tahapan identifikasi permasalahan, survei lapangan, pengukuran dimensi, pembuatan desain tiga dimensi, penyusunan RAB, konsultasi dengan pembimbing industri, hingga penyempurnaan desain sesuai kebutuhan perusahaan.Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa rancangan modifikasi mampu memberikan solusi konseptual terhadap permasalahan variasi dimensi kaleng pada proses filling serta meningkatkan kemudahan operasional storage tank. Selain itu, pelaksanaan magang memberikan pengalaman dalam penerapan ilmu perancangan mesin, proses manufaktur, pemeliharaan mesin, serta kerja sama dalam lingkungan industri. Kegiatan magang ini diharapkan dapat menjadi kontribusi bagi perusahaan dalam pengembangan sistem produksi sekaligus meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam menghadapi dunia kerja.

Industrial internship is a learning program designed to provide students with practical experience and improve their understanding of the application of engineering knowledge in industrial environments. This internship was conducted at PT Avia Avian Tbk for five months, from February to June 2025, in the Engineering Project and Maintenance Divisions. During the internship, the student participated in various activities, including production process observation, machine maintenance, computer-aided design (CAD), cost estimation (Bill of Quantity), and machine improvement projects. The main project focused on modifying a multidimensional paint filling machine to improve its flexibility in handling various paint can sizes. The proposed modification involved designing a centered grip mechanism to automatically position different can dimensions at the machine center during the filling process. In addition, the storage tank system was redesigned by integrating an electric motor as an agitator drive to maintain material homogeneity throughout production. The engineering process included problem identification, field surveys, dimensional measurements, three-dimensional design, cost estimation, technical discussions with industrial supervisors, and design refinement based on operational requirements. The results indicate that the proposed modification provides a conceptual solution to the challenges associated with varying paint can dimensions during the filling process while improving the operational performance of the storage tank. Furthermore, the internship enhanced practical competencies in machine design, manufacturing processes, maintenance engineering, and teamwork within an industrial environment. This internship is expected to contribute to production system improvements within the company while strengthening students' professional skills for future engineering careers.
