Abstract

This study used the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method to identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential damage or failures in reach truck components. FMEA is a systematic approach that functions to determine potential failures based on three main parameters: severity, occurrence (frequency of failure), and detection (ability to detect failure), which are then calculated as a Risk Priority Number (RPN). The data used was historical damage data from 2021 to 2024 obtained from the Maintenance Division. The data processing results indicated that several components, such as the pantograph hose, RLL drive wheel, and main hose lift mast, were critical components with the highest RPN values, making them a priority in developing a maintenance strategy. Based on these findings, preventive maintenance measures were designed to reduce the potential for future damage, as well as corrective maintenance as a quick solution for components that had already experienced damage.
In the analysis process, a data-driven approach is combined with technical field evaluations to ensure that the proposed solutions are not only theoretically relevant but also practically implementable. The use of tools such as MATLAB software also supports the validity of the analysis results through fuzzy logic methods, which produce more accurate and objective RPN values. By ranking based on RPN values, companies can prioritize improvements that are more measurable and have a direct impact on operational efficiency.
