Abstract
Suspensi sekunder tipe air spring merupakan salah satu komponen utama pada sistem bogie kereta rel diesel (KRDI-AC) yang berfungsi meningkatkan kenyamanan penumpang, menjaga kestabilan kereta, serta meredam getaran dan guncangan selama perjalanan. Kinerja sistem suspensi yang optimal hanya dapat dicapai melalui kegiatan perawatan yang dilakukan secara berkala sesuai dengan prosedur yang telah ditetapkan. Oleh karena itu, laporan magang ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari proses perawatan suspensi sekunder air spring pada Kereta Rel Diesel KRDI-AC di PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 8 Depo Lokomotif Surabaya Pasar Turi. Metode yang digunakan selama kegiatan magang meliputi observasi langsung terhadap proses perawatan, wawancara dengan teknisi dan supervisor, serta studi dokumentasi mengenai standar operasional prosedur (SOP) perawatan kereta. Tahapan perawatan meliputi pemeriksaan kondisi fisik air spring, pengecekan kebocoran udara, pemeriksaan tekanan udara, pemeriksaan komponen pendukung seperti selang, katup, dan sambungan, serta penggantian komponen yang mengalami kerusakan atau keausan. Selain itu dilakukan evaluasi terhadap faktor-faktor yang dapat memengaruhi kinerja sistem suspensi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan perawatan secara berkala mampu menjaga performa suspensi sekunder sehingga tetap memenuhi standar keselamatan dan kenyamanan operasional kereta. Pemeriksaan rutin juga berperan dalam mendeteksi kerusakan sejak dini sehingga dapat mengurangi risiko gangguan operasional dan memperpanjang umur pakai komponen suspensi. Dengan demikian, penerapan prosedur perawatan yang sesuai standar menjadi faktor penting dalam meningkatkan keandalan dan keselamatan pengoperasian KRDI-AC.

The secondary suspension system using an air spring is one of the main components of the Diesel Rail Train (KRDI-AC) bogie system, functioning to improve passenger comfort, maintain train stability, and reduce vibration and shock during operation. The optimal performance of the suspension system can only be achieved through periodic maintenance carried out in accordance with established maintenance procedures. Therefore, this industrial internship report aims to study the maintenance process of the secondary air spring suspension system on KRDI-AC trains at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), Operational Area 8, Surabaya Pasar Turi Locomotive Depot. The methods employed during the internship included direct observation of maintenance activities, interviews with technicians and supervisors, and documentation studies of the train maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The maintenance process consisted of visual inspection of the air spring, air leakage inspection, air pressure checking, inspection of supporting components such as hoses, valves, and fittings, as well as replacement of damaged or worn components. Furthermore, an evaluation was conducted to identify factors affecting the performance of the suspension system. The results indicate that routine maintenance effectively maintains the performance of the secondary suspension system in accordance with operational safety and passenger comfort standards. Regular inspections also enable early detection of component failures, thereby reducing the risk of operational disruptions and extending the service life of suspension components. Therefore, the implementation of standardized maintenance procedures plays a significant role in improving the reliability and safety of KRDI-AC train operations.
