Abstract
Selama proses produksi masih ditemukan fluktuasi nilai initial setting time dan final setting time yang berpotensi memengaruhi konsistensi mutu semen.

PT Semen Bosowa Banyuwangi produces Portland Composite Cement (PCC), whose quality must comply with established standards, including the setting time parameter. During the production process, fluctuations in the initial and final setting times were observed, potentially affecting product quality consistency. Therefore, this internship aimed to identify the factors causing setting time instability and determine the optimum combination of process parameters to achieve stable setting time performance. The study employed a case study approach using laboratory data collected from the Process Laboratory during October. The analysis consisted of root cause identification using the Fishbone (Ishikawa) diagram, evaluation of the relationships between gypsum content, SO₃ content, and Blaine fineness with setting time, and process optimization using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) implemented in Minitab software. The results indicated that material-related factors were the dominant contributors to setting time instability, particularly variations in gypsum content, SO₃ content, and cement fineness (Blaine). The optimization results suggested that the optimum operating conditions were 2.843% gypsum, 4270.34 cm²/g Blaine fineness, and 1.992% SO₃ content, which produced a predicted initial setting time of 128 minutes and final setting time of 249 minutes, with a desirability value of 1.000. These findings demonstrate that consistent control of these three parameters can improve setting time stability and support the quality control of PCC production at PT Semen Bosowa Banyuwangi.
