Abstract

Perairan Gresik merupakan wilayah pesisir di Laut Jawa yang dipengaruhi oleh angin musiman sehingga karakteristik gelombangnya mengalami perubahan sepanjang tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik spektrum gelombang di Perairan Gresik menggunakan permodelan numerik berdasarkan data reanalisis ERA5 periode 2015–2025. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan bahasa pemrograman Python melalui analisis parameter gelombang, visualisasi windrose, penyusunan spektrum JONSWAP, serta kalibrasi parameter alpha untuk memperoleh representasi energi gelombang yang sesuai dengan kondisi perairan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi dominan gelombang berada pada kisaran 0,25–0,26 Hz di seluruh titik observasi, sedangkan energi spektrum tertinggi ditemukan pada latitude -5,5° dan menurun secara bertahap menuju latitude -6,5°, yang mengindikasikan terjadinya disipasi energi gelombang ke arah pantai. Distribusi arah gelombang didominasi oleh sektor barat hingga barat laut dengan variasi yang dipengaruhi oleh sistem monsun. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi mengenai karakteristik spektrum gelombang di Perairan Gresik sebagai dasar dalam perencanaan dan pengelolaan wilayah pesisir.

Gresik Waters, located in the Java Sea, are influenced by seasonal monsoon winds, resulting in temporal variations in wave characteristics throughout the year. This study aims to analyze the wave spectrum characteristics in Gresik Waters using a numerical wave modeling approach based on ERA5 reanalysis data from 2015 to 2025. The data were processed using Python through wave parameter analysis, wind rose visualization, JONSWAP spectrum modeling, and calibration of the JONSWAP alpha parameter to obtain a spectral representation that better reflects local wave conditions. The results show that the dominant wave frequency ranges from 0.25 to 0.26 Hz across all observation points, while the highest spectral energy is observed at latitude -5.5° and gradually decreases toward latitude -6.5°, indicating wave energy dissipation toward the coastal area. In addition, the dominant wave direction is from the west to northwest sectors, with seasonal variations influenced by the monsoon system. These findings provide valuable insight into the wave spectrum characteristics of Gresik Waters and can serve as a scientific basis for coastal engineering applications and coastal zone management.
