Abstract

Traditional course scheduling systems are often inefficient, prone to scheduling conflicts, and require significant time for teaching load distribution. This research has developed an automated cloud-based scheduling system integrating Google Workspace and WhatsApp to address the complexity of multi-level scheduling (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral) in higher education environments. The system combines a constraint-based validation approach with heuristic algorithms for real-time conflict detection and equitable Semester Credit Unit (SKS) distribution. Implementation involving 120 courses (including parallel classes), 11 classrooms, and 26 lecturers demonstrates that the system can generate a schedule in approximately 17 seconds, with an average validation response time of 1.2 seconds per cell data change. Furthermore, it successfully delivered teaching load notifications to 100% of lecturers via WhatsApp and email. This system enhances administrative efficiency while strengthening the accountability of academic resource management.
