Abstract

PT Pertamina EP Sukowati Field merupakan salah satu perusahaan hulu minyak dan gas bumi yang berperan dalam pengolahan crude oil agar memenuhi spesifikasi kualitas sebelum didistribusikan. Salah satu tahapan penting dalam proses tersebut adalah pengurangan kadar hidrogen sulfida (H₂S) menggunakan unit stripper PV-9500. Selama pelaksanaan magang, dilakukan pengamatan terhadap proses produksi minyak dan gas, penyusunan neraca massa dan energi, serta analisis permasalahan pada unit stripper yang mengalami fluktuasi kadar H₂S keluaran crude oil melebihi batas spesifikasi 100 ppm. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerja stripper serta menentukan kondisi operasi optimum untuk meningkatkan efisiensi proses sweetening. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data operasi lapangan, studi literatur, analisis akar penyebab menggunakan Fishbone Diagram, serta simulasi proses menggunakan Aspen HYSYS. Variabel yang dianalisis meliputi temperatur operasi, Gas Oil Ratio (GOR), dan jumlah tray. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan temperatur operasi hingga rentang 67–89 °C, pengaturan GOR sebesar 0,14–0,20, serta peningkatan jumlah tray efektif menjadi lebih dari tiga mampu meningkatkan perpindahan massa antara fase gas dan cair sehingga proses pelepasan H₂S berlangsung lebih optimal. Rekomendasi tersebut diharapkan mampu menjaga kadar H₂S crude oil tetap berada di bawah batas spesifikasi, meningkatkan stabilitas operasi, serta mendukung keselamatan, keandalan, dan efisiensi proses pengolahan minyak di PT Pertamina EP Sukowati Field.

PT Pertamina EP Sukowati Field is an upstream oil and gas company responsible for processing crude oil to meet quality specifications before distribution. One of the critical processing stages is the removal of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) using the PV-9500 stripper unit. During the internship, observations were conducted on the oil and gas production process, mass and energy balance calculations, and troubleshooting of the stripper unit, where fluctuations in crude oil H₂S concentration occasionally exceeded the specification limit of 100 ppm. This study aims to identify the factors affecting stripper performance and determine the optimum operating conditions to improve the efficiency of the crude oil sweetening process. The methodology included field data collection, literature review, root cause analysis using the Fishbone Diagram, and process simulation with Aspen HYSYS. The evaluated operating parameters were temperature, Gas Oil Ratio (GOR), and the number of trays. The results indicate that increasing the operating temperature to 67–89 °C, maintaining a GOR of 0.14–0.20, and increasing the effective number of trays to more than three significantly enhance gas–liquid mass transfer, resulting in more effective H₂S removal. These operating recommendations are expected to maintain the crude oil H₂S concentration below the required specification, improve operational stability, and enhance the safety, reliability, and efficiency of crude oil processing at PT Pertamina EP Sukowati Field.
