Abstract
Magang dilaksanakan di Unit Quality Control PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Pabrik Tuban dengan tujuan memahami penerapan proses produksi semen, sistem pengendalian mutu, serta penyelesaian permasalahan yang terjadi di lingkungan industri. Selama kegiatan magang dilakukan observasi terhadap tahapan produksi semen yang meliputi persiapan bahan baku, proses crushing, raw mill, pembakaran di kiln, pendinginan klinker, finish mill, hingga proses pengemasan. Selain itu, dipelajari penerapan sistem Quality Assurance dan Quality Control melalui pengujian kualitas bahan baku, klinker, dan produk akhir untuk memastikan kesesuaian dengan standar mutu perusahaan. Kegiatan magang juga mencakup pemahaman mengenai penerapan sistem manajemen mutu, keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3), serta pengelolaan lingkungan sebagai bagian dari upaya menjaga keberlanjutan proses produksi.Sebagai bagian dari kegiatan problem solving, dilakukan analisis terhadap potensi self combustion pada penyimpanan batu bara (Coal Centralized Transportation/CCT). Permasalahan tersebut disebabkan oleh proses oksidasi batu bara yang dipengaruhi oleh kepadatan pile, lamanya waktu penyimpanan, serta karakteristik batu bara dengan kandungan volatile matter tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, direkomendasikan perbaikan pengelolaan stockpile melalui pengaturan metode penumpukan, pengendalian waktu tinggal material, pemantauan temperatur secara berkala, serta penerapan sistem deteksi dini untuk meminimalkan risiko kebakaran. Kegiatan magang ini memberikan pemahaman mengenai integrasi teori teknik kimia industri dengan praktik di lapangan serta meningkatkan kemampuan analisis, pemecahan masalah, dan profesionalisme dalam lingkungan industri.

The internship was conducted at the Quality Control Unit of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Tuban Factory with the aim of understanding the implementation of the cement production process, quality control system, and problem solving that occurs in the industrial environment. During the internship, observations were made on the stages of cement production including raw material preparation, crushing process, raw mill, kiln combustion, clinker cooling, finish mill, and packaging process. In addition, the implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems was studied through testing the quality of raw materials, clinker, and final products to ensure compliance with company quality standards. The internship also included an understanding of the implementation of quality management systems, occupational safety and health (K3), and environmental management as part of efforts to maintain the sustainability of the production process. As part of the problem-solving activity, an analysis was conducted on the potential for self-combustion in coal storage (Coal Centralized Transportation/CCT). This problem is caused by the coal oxidation process which is influenced by pile density, length of storage time, and the characteristics of coal with high volatile matter content. Based on the analysis results, it is recommended to improve stockpile management through regulating stacking methods, controlling material residence time, regular temperature monitoring, and implementing an early detection system to minimize the risk of fire. This internship provides an understanding of the integration of industrial chemical engineering theory with field practice and improves analytical skills, problem solving, and professionalism in an industrial environment.
