Abstract

Kegiatan magang di Departemen Produksi IIB PT Petrokimia Gresik bertujuan mempelajari proses produksi pupuk dan mengevaluasi kinerja spray scrubber pada unit NPK Granulasi I. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, wawancara, studi literatur, pengumpulan data operasi, analisis akar masalah, dan perhitungan empiris. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan efisiensi scrubber sebesar 69,6% dengan konsentrasi partikulat keluaran 180 mg/Nm³, melebihi baku mutu 150 mg/Nm³. Skenario optimum diperoleh pada ukuran droplet 200 µm, laju alir cairan 300 m³/jam, dan tinggi kontak 5 m, sehingga efisiensi meningkat menjadi 92,72% dan konsentrasi keluaran turun menjadi 43,69 mg/Nm³. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa optimasi operasi mampu memenuhi standar emisi.

The internship at PT Petrokimia Gresik’s Production IIB Department focused on understanding fertilizer production and evaluating spray scrubber performance in the NPK Granulation I unit. Methods included field observation, interviews, literature review, operational data collection, root cause analysis, and empirical calculations. The evaluation showed a scrubber efficiency of 69.6% with an outlet particulate concentration of 180 mg/Nm³, exceeding the 150 mg/Nm³ emission limit. The optimum scenario used a 200 µm droplet size, a liquid flow rate of 300 m³/h, and a 5 m contact height, increasing efficiency to 92.72% and reducing outlet concentration to 43.69 mg/Nm³ and supporting reliable operation.
