Abstract
Polusi udara dalam ruangan (indoor air pollution) merupakan permasalahan lingkungan yang signifikan karena konsentrasi polutan di dalam ruangan dapat lebih tinggi dibandingkan udara luar. Salah satu polutan berbahaya adalah karbon monoksida (CO), yaitu gas tidak berwarna dan tidak berbau yang dapat menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan serius. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya mitigasi yang ramah lingkungan, salah satunya melalui fitoremediasi menggunakan tanaman hias. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efisiensi tanaman lili paris (Chlorophytum comosum) dan lidah mertua (Sansevieria) dalam mereduksi CO di dalam ruangan serta membandingkan kapasitas penyerapannya. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental di laboratorium rumah peneliti menggunakan reaktor kaca berukuran (40 × 40 × 60) cm. Sumber polutan berupa gas CO pro analysis dengan variasi konsentrasi 100, 150, dan 200 ppm. Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan detektor karbon monoksida Bosean Carbon Monoxide Detector BH-X01. Parameter yang diamati meliputi penurunan konsentrasi CO, suhu, dan kelembaban. Pengamatan dilakukan pada pagi (08.00), siang (12.00), sore (16.00), dan malam hari (20.00). Percobaan dilakukan pada masing-masing tanaman dengan berat yang sama, kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan uji Two-Way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh perlakuan tanaman, yaitu lili paris, lidah mertua, dan mixed plant (kombinasi lili paris dan lidah mertua), mampu menurunkan konsentrasi CO dibandingkan kondisi tanpa tanaman. Tanaman lili paris menunjukkan efektivitas tertinggi dengan penurunan konsentrasi sebesar 77 ppm dan efisiensi 34,07%, sedangkan lidah mertua menunjukkan penurunan sebesar 33 ppm dengan efisiensi 14,60%. Mixed plant juga menunjukkan kemampuan dalam mereduksi CO dan menghasilkan penurunan konsentrasi yang lebih baik dibandingkan kondisi kontrol. Penurunan konsentrasi CO terjadi secara bertahap yang menunjukkan bahwa proses penyerapan berlangsung secara kontinu. Dengan demikian, lili paris merupakan perlakuan yang paling efektif dalam mereduksi karbon monoksida di dalam ruangan, sementara kombinasi tanaman melalui mixed plant berpotensi menjadi alternatif fitoremediasi yang ramah lingkungan untuk meningkatkan kualitas udara dalam ruangan.

Indoor air pollution is a significant environmental issue because pollutant concentrations indoors can be higher than those outdoors. One of the hazardous pollutants is carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless and odorless gas that can cause serious health problems. Therefore, eco-friendly mitigation efforts are required, one of which is through hytoremediation using ornamental plants. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of the spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) and snake plant (Sansevieria) in reducing CO concentrations and to compare their absorption capacities. This research was conducted experimentally in a laboratory using a glass reactor measuring (40 x 40 x 60) cm. The pollutant source used was pro-analysis CO gas with concentration variations of 100, 150, and 200 ppm. Measurements were carried out using a Bosean Carbon Monoxide Detector BH-X01. Parameters observed included the decrease in CO concentration, temperature, and humidity. Observations were made in the morning (08:00), afternoon (12:00), evening (16:00), and night (20:00). The experiment was conducted on each plant with the same weight, and the data were subsequently analyzed using a Two-Way ANOVA test. The results showed that all plant treatments were capable of reducing carbon monoxide concentrations compared to the control condition. Spider plant demonstrated the highest removal performance, achieving a reduction of 77 ppm with an efficiency of 34.07%, while snake plant reduced CO concentration by 33 ppm with an efficiency of 14.60%. The mixed plant treatment also exhibited the ability to reduce CO concentrations and provided better performance than the control treatment. Carbon monoxide removal increased gradually throughout the observation period, indicating a continuous absorption process. These findings suggest that spider plant is the most effective species for indoor CO reduction, while the mixed plant treatment offers potential as an environmentally friendly phytoremediation alternative for improving indoor air quality.
