Abstract

Sistem kelistrikan Sulawesi Bagian Selatan (SulBagSel) menghadapi tantangan stabilitas tegangan akibat pertumbuhan beban tinggi dan keterbatasan infrastruktur transmisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan lokasi dan kapasitas STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator) untuk meningkatkan kualitas dan stabilitas tegangan sistem. Metodologi yang digunakan meliputi analisis kontingensi untuk identifikasi kandidat lokasi dan perhitungan skor multi-kriteria berdasarkan deviasi tegangan, Voltage Stability Risk Index (VSRI), dan kapasitas STATCOM. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan lokasi terbaik adalah Gardu Induk Majene dengan kapasitas 185 MVAr. Pemodelan STATCOM dilakukan menggunakan elemen PWM Converter tipe full-bridge MMC pada DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Hasil analisis menunjukkan STATCOM meningkatkan kualitas tegangan hingga 6.1% dan stabilitas tegangan (VSRI) hingga 87.7% pada berbagai skenario kontingensi kritis. Pada kontingensi N-2 jalur 275 kV Wotu Palopo - Pamona Latuppa dan 150 kV Palopo Latuppa 1-2, STATCOM mengeliminasi kebutuhan redispatch PLTA Poso sebesar 54.3 MW (dari 406.8 MW menjadi 352.5 MW) yang diperlukan pada kondisi tanpa kompensasi. Pada kontingensi N-2 Wotu Tentena - Pamona Latuppa, kombinasi STATCOM dengan strategi redispatch meningkatkan batas operasi PLTA Poso sebesar 20.2 MW (8.1%). Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa STATCOM efektif meningkatkan kualitas dan stabilitas tegangan sistem SulBagSel, mengeliminasi kebutuhan intervensi operasional pada kontingensi kritis, dan meningkatkan fleksibilitas operasi sistem.

The South Sulawesi (SulBagSel) power system faces voltage stability challenges due to high load growth and limited transmission infrastructure. This study aims to determine the location and capacity of STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator) to improve system voltage quality and stability. The methodology includes contingency analysis to identify candidate locations and multi-criteria scoring based on voltage deviation, Voltage Stability Risk Index (VSRI), and STATCOM capacity. The results indicate that the best location is Majene Substation with a capacity of 185 MVAr. STATCOM modeling was performed using full-bridge MMC PWM Converter elements in DIgSILENT PowerFactory. Analysis results show that STATCOM improves voltage quality by up to 6.1% and voltage stability (VSRI) by up to 87.7% across various critical contingency scenarios. For N-2 contingencies on the 275 kV Wotu Palopo - Pamona Latuppa line and 150 kV Palopo Latuppa 1-2 line, STATCOM eliminates the need for 54.3 MW redispatch of Poso Hydropower Plant (from 406.8 MW to 352.5 MW) required under uncompensated conditions. For the N-2 Wotu Tentena - Pamona Latuppa contingency, the combination of STATCOM with redispatch strategy increases the operational limit of Poso Hydropower Plant by 20.2 MW (8.1%). This study demonstrates that STATCOM effectively improves voltage quality and stability of the SulBagSel system, eliminates the need for operational intervention in critical contingencies, and enhances system operational flexibility.
