Abstract

Southern Nganjuk Regency is a region with high groundwater utilization dynamics due to agricultural and residential development. However, information on the characteristics and depth of aquifers in this region is still limited. This study aims to identify the characteristics of aquifer layers and model subsurface lithology using the Automatic Audio-Frequency Magnetotelluric (ADMT) method. Measurements were conducted at 20 track points spread across nine districts with an investigation depth of up to 300 meters using the ADMT 300-ET2 instrument. The results were correlated with electric well logging data from seven drill points around the study area. The results showed that the resistivity values in the southern region of Nganjuk Regency vary between 0.1 Ωm and 111 Ωm. Of the 20 measurement tracks, 18 points were identified as having aquifer potential at depths of 15 to 300 meters, with lithologies consisting of tuffaceous sand, sandy tuff, and gravelly sand alternating with layers of clay and tuff breccia as aquitards. The distribution of aquifers in the research area reflects the influence of volcanic and alluvial sedimentation systems that developed in the Brantas Groundwater Basin.
