Abstract

Indonesia merupakan wilayah dengan aktivitas tektonik tinggi, termasuk wilayah barat Sumatra yang berpotensi mengalami deformasi vertikal berupa penurunan dan kenaikan posisi permukaan tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pola deformasi vertikal di wilayah barat Sumatra berdasarkan data GNSS periode 2018–2022. Data berasal dari 14 stasiun Sumatran GPS Array (SuGAr) dan diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak GipsyX dengan metode Precise Point Positioning (PPP) untuk memperoleh koordinat harian. Koordinat hasil pengolahan ditransformasikan ke sistem lokal ENU, dengan fokus analisis pada komponen Up. Estimasi velocity vertikal digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kecenderungan penurunan dan kenaikan setiap stasiun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar stasiun mengalami penurunan. Penurunan terbesar terjadi pada stasiun SLBU sebesar −19,24 mm/tahun, sedangkan LAIS dan MKMK menunjukkan kenaikan masing-masing sebesar 13,86 mm/tahun dan 3,18 mm/tahun. Secara spasial, penurunan dominan terjadi di Kepulauan Mentawai dan sebagian pesisir barat Sumatra. Pola tersebut mengindikasikan adanya keterkaitan dengan posisi tektonik, kondisi geologi lokal, dan karakteristik masing-masing stasiun. Pemodelan viscoelastic relaxation pascagempa Bengkulu tahun 2007 menggunakan VISCO1D model Maxwell M4 menunjukkan kontribusi kecil, yaitu umumnya di bawah 1% terhadap velocity vertikal GNSS. Dengan demikian, deformasi vertikal selama periode pengamatan tidak didominasi oleh proses viskoelastik pascagempa.

Indonesia is located in a region with high tectonic activity, including western Sumatra, which may experience vertical deformation through surface lowering and rising. This study aims to analyze vertical deformation patterns in western Sumatra using GNSS data from 2018 to 2022. The data were obtained from 14 Sumatran GPS Array (SuGAr) stations and processed using GipsyX software with the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) method to produce daily coordinates. The coordinates were transformed into the local ENU system, with the analysis focused on the Up component. Vertical velocity estimation was used to identify lowering and rising tendencies at each station. The results show that most stations experienced lowering. The largest lowering occurred at SLBU station, reaching −19.24 mm/year, while LAIS and MKMK showed rising values of 13.86 mm/year and 3.18 mm/year, respectively. Spatially, lowering was dominant in the Mentawai Islands and parts of western Sumatra’s coast. This pattern indicates a relationship with tectonic position, local geology, and station characteristics. Viscoelastic relaxation modeling following the 2007 Bengkulu earthquake using the VISCO1D Maxwell M4 model showed a small contribution, generally below 1% of GNSS vertical velocity. Therefore, vertical deformation during the observation period was not dominated by postseismic viscoelastic processes.
