Abstract

Konsentrasi karbon dioksida (CO₂) di kawasan perkotaan cenderung meningkat seiring dengan aktivitas transportasi dan penggunaan lahan, sehingga berpotensi menurunkan kualitas udara. Di sisi lain, ruang terbuka hijau (RTH) memiliki peran penting dalam menyerap CO₂ melalui vegetasi yang ada. Telaga Bandung Lamongan sebagai salah satu RTH di kawasan perkotaan dimanfaatkan tidak hanya sebagai ruang rekreasi, tetapi juga memiliki fungsi ekologis dalam pengendalian kualitas udara. Namun, kajian terkait efektivitas vegetasi di kawasan ini masih terbatas, terutama dalam melihat pengaruh jenis tanaman terhadap konsentrasi CO₂. Sebagian penelitian sebelumnya lebih menekankan pada jumlah vegetasi,sehingga belum sepenuhnya menggambarkan peran kualitas vegetasi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsentrasi CO₂ di kawasan Telaga Bandung Lamongan serta mengkaji pengaruh jenis tanaman terhadap konsentrasi CO₂. Penelitian dilaksanakan di RTH Telaga Bandung Lamongan menggunakan delapan titik pengamatan yang mewakili variasi vegetasi. Pengukuran konsentrasi CO₂ dilakukan secara langsung dengan CO₂ meter selama tujuh hari berturut-turut pada tiga periode Waktu pengamatan. Data vegetasi diperoleh melalui identifikasi jenis tanaman, jumlah individu, dan perhitungan kerapatan tanaman pada setiap titik. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji Friedman, regresi linear berganda, serta perhitungan nilai kumulatif konsentrasi CO₂(KCO₂/Net_CO₂-Con) untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan reduksi CO₂ oleh vegetasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata konsentrasi CO₂ udara ambien di Telaga Bandung Lamongan sebesar 406 ppm. Nilai kumulatif konsentrasi CO₂ (Net_CO₂-Con/KCO₂) untuk seluruh kawasan sebesar −35 ppm, yang menunjukkan bahwa selama periode pengamatan proses reduksi atau penyerapan CO₂ oleh vegetasi lebih besar dibandingkan emisi CO₂ yang dihasilkan, sehingga kawasan Telaga Bandung Lamongan masih berfungsi sebagai penyerap karbon dioksida. Analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa jenis tanaman dan kerapatan tanaman secara bersama-sama mampu menjelaskan 15,68% variasi nilai kumulatif konsentrasi CO₂, sedangkan 84,32% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar model penelitian. Dengan demikian, jenis tanaman dan kerapatan tanaman berkontribusi terhadap reduksi konsentrasi CO₂, namun efektivitas penyerapan CO₂ di kawasan Telaga Bandung Lamongan juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan lainnya.

Carbon dioxide (CO₂) concentrations in urban areas tend to increase due to transportation activities and land use changes, potentially leading to a decline in ambient air quality. On the other hand, urban green open spaces play an important role in mitigating CO₂ concentrations through the carbon sequestration capacity of vegetation. Telaga Bandung Lamongan, one of the urban green open spaces in Lamongan, serves not only as a recreational area but also as an ecological asset for maintaining air quality. However, studies evaluating the effectiveness of vegetation in this area remain limited, particularly regarding the influence of plant species on ambient CO₂ concentrations. Previous studies have primarily focused on vegetation quantity rather than vegetation characteristics. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze ambient CO₂ concentrations in the Telaga Bandung Lamongan green open space and to evaluate the influence of plant species on CO₂ concentrations. The study was conducted at the Telaga Bandung Lamongan green open space using eight observation points representing different vegetation characteristics. Ambient CO₂ concentrations were measured directly using a CO₂ meter over seven consecutive days during three observation periods each day. Vegetation data were collected through the identification of plant species, the number of individual trees, and vegetation density at each observation point. Data were analyzed using the Friedman test, multiple linear regression, and cumulative CO₂ concentration (KCO₂/Net_CO₂-Con) analysis to evaluate the CO₂ reduction capacity of vegetation. The results showed that the average ambient CO₂ concentration at Telaga Bandung Lamongan was 406 ppm. The cumulative CO₂ concentration (Net_CO₂-Con/KCO₂) for the entire study area was −35 ppm, indicating that CO₂ uptake by vegetation exceeded CO₂ emissions during the observation period, demonstrating that Telaga Bandung Lamongan continues to function as a carbon sink. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that plant species and vegetation density jointly explained 15.68% of the variation in cumulative CO₂ concentration, while the remaining 84.32% was influenced by other factors outside the regression model. These findings indicate that plant species and vegetation density contribute to reducing ambient CO₂ concentrations; however, the effectiveness of CO₂ sequestration at Telaga Bandung Lamongan is also affected by other environmental factors
