Abstract
Penelitian ini mengevaluasi dampak lingkungan dari aktivitas belanja grocery dan merumuskan strategi implementasi Zero Waste Store (ZWS) di satu kecamatan terpilih di Surabaya. ZWS didefinisikan sebagai model ritel berbasis refill atau curah yang mendorong penggunaan wadah ulang untuk mengurangi kemasan sekali pakai. Analisis mencakup pasar tradisional, ritel konvensional, dan ZWS dengan mempertahankan batas sistem Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) yang konsisten, meliputi transportasi, sistem kemasan, wadah ulang, dan penanganan pasca-belanja. Analisis spasial menggunakan konsep 15-minute city untuk mengidentifikasi cakupan dan aksesibilitas. Adopsi perilaku konsumen diintegrasikan melalui estimasi survei, menunjukkan sekitar 19,7% rumah tangga berpotensi beralih ke praktik ZWS. Hasil skenario menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan ZWS baru dan konversi ritel eksisting dapat menurunkan total dampak lingkungan dari 1.256.951 mPt pada kondisi baseline menjadi 705.993 mPt pada skenario konversi penuh, sedangkan skenario hybrid mencapai 795.491 mPt. Temuan ini menekankan bahwa peningkatan aksesibilitas dan partisipasi konsumen secara bersamaan dapat meningkatkan kinerja lingkungan belanja perkotaan secara signifikan.

This study evaluates the environmental impacts of grocery shopping and explores strategies for implementing Zero Waste Stores (ZWS) in a selected district of Surabaya. ZWS are defined as refill- or bulk-based retail models that encourage the use of reusable containers to minimize single-use packaging. The analysis includes public markets, conventional stores, and ZWS while maintaining consistent Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) boundaries for transportation, packaging, reusable containers, and post-shopping handling. Spatial analysis using the 15-minute city concept identifies coverage gaps and accessibility of retail systems. Consumer behavioral adoption is incorporated through survey-based estimates, revealing that approximately 19.7% of households are likely to shift to ZWS practices. Scenario analysis shows that introducing new ZWS points and converting existing stores can reduce total environmental impacts from 1,256,951 mPt in the baseline to 705,993 mPt in a full conversion scenario, while a hybrid scenario achieves 795,491 mPt. These results shows that combining enhanced accessibility with consumer willingness can significantly improve the environmental performance of urban grocery shopping.
