Abstract
Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labelling (FOPNL) merupakan strategi komunikasi gizi yang bertujuan membantu konsumen mengenali informasi gizi secara cepat melalui bagian depan kemasan produk. Namun, efektivitas desain FOPNL dalam mendukung pencarian visual masih dipengaruhi oleh elemen desain yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh elemen desain FOPNL terhadap performa visual pengguna dalam menemukan informasi gizi serta menyusun rekomendasi desain FOPNL. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode eye tracking terhadap 30 responden yang menyelesaikan visual search task pada 20 stimulus kemasan dengan variasi warna, posisi, dan teks menggunakan desain eksperimen within-subject. Performa visual diukur menggunakan Time to First Fixation (TFF), Total Fixation Duration (TFD), dan Effectiveness (EFF). Data dianalisis menggunakan Repeated Measures MANOVA, Repeated Measures ANOVA, serta analisis statistik lanjutan, sedangkan heatmap dan in-depth interview digunakan untuk memperkaya interpretasi hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa warna, posisi, dan teks secara individual tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap performa visual pengguna. Namun, terdapat interaksi signifikan antara warna dan posisi terhadap TFF dan EFF, sedangkan tidak ditemukan pengaruh signifikan terhadap TFD. Kombinasi Merah–Kiri Atas menghasilkan TFF terendah, sedangkan Hijau–Kanan Bawah menghasilkan EFF tertinggi. Meskipun demikian, pengujian statistik lanjutan menunjukkan bahwa kedua kandidat desain tidak memiliki perbedaan performa yang signifikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan dua alternatif desain FOPNL, yaitu Merah–Kiri Atas untuk mendukung kecepatan deteksi visual dan Hijau–Kanan Bawah untuk mendukung tingkat keberhasilan pencarian label.

Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labelling (FOPNL) is a nutrition communication strategy designed to help consumers quickly identify nutritional information on the front of food packaging. However, its effectiveness in supporting visual search is influenced by the design elements employed. This study aims to evaluate the influence of FOPNL design elements on users' visual search performance and to propose recommended FOPNL designs. An eye-tracking experiment was conducted involving 30 participants performing a visual search task on 20 food package stimuli with variations in color, position, and text using a within-subject experimental design. Visual search performance was evaluated using Time to First Fixation (TFF), Total Fixation Duration (TFD), and Effectiveness (EFF). The data were analyzed using Repeated Measures MANOVA, Repeated Measures ANOVA, and subsequent statistical analyses, while heatmaps and in-depth interviews were used to enrich the interpretation of the quantitative findings. The results showed that color, position, and text did not have significant individual effects on users' visual search performance. However, a significant interaction between color and position was found for TFF and EFF, whereas no significant effect was observed for TFD. The Red–Top Left design produced the lowest TFF, while the Green–Bottom Right design achieved the highest EFF. Nevertheless, subsequent statistical analyses indicated no significant difference in visual performance between these two candidate designs. Therefore, this study recommends two alternative FOPNL designs: Red–Top Left when rapid visual detection is prioritized and Green–Bottom Right when search success is prioritized.
