Abstract
Kegiatan magang industri ini dilaksanakan di PT Petrokimia Gresik dengan fokus utama pada tinjauan operasional di Departemen Produksi III B. Laporan ini mengkaji secara komprehensif dinamika operasional pabrik dari perspektif teknik kimia, diawali dengan tinjauan manajemen yang mencakup struktur organisasi, implementasi Keselamatan, Kesehatan Kerja, dan Lingkungan (K3L), serta pencapaian PROPER Emas dalam sistem manajemen lingkungan perusahaan. Secara teknis, spesifikasi Unit Produksi Aluminium Fluorida (〖"AlF" 〗_3) dipetakan secara mendetail mulai dari tahap preparasi bahan baku hingga pengemasan melalui perancangan Process Block Diagram, Process Flow Diagram (PFD), dan Pipe & Instrument Diagram (PID). Evaluasi kuantitatif terhadap kinerja peralatan krusial di unit tersebut juga dilakukan melalui perhitungan neraca massa dan neraca energi, dengan titik berat pada unit Preheater Tank, Reaktor, Crystallizer, dan Calciner. Selain itu, aspek keselamatan proses dievaluasi secara terstruktur menggunakan metodologi Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) untuk mengidentifikasi dan merumuskan pengendalian potensi bahaya pada instrumen pabrik. Sebagai bentuk penyelesaian masalah operasional sebenarnya di lapangan, laporan ini turut menyertakan kajian troubleshooting yang menguraikan analisis akar penyebab masalah guna memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan yang solutif. Secara keseluruhan, penyusunan laporan ini ditujukan untuk memberikan pemahaman aplikatif terkait integrasi antara teori keteknikan dan operasional aktual di skala industri manufaktur pupuk dan bahan kimia. Berdasarkan hasil troubleshooting yang telah dilakukan nilai Untamped Bulk Density AlF3 yang terlalu tinggi dapat diturunkan dengan mengubah atau menyesuaikan kondisi operasi Crystallizer. Dalam hal ini mengubah temperature operasi untuk memaksimalkan hasil ukuran kristal yang dihasilkan. Berdasarkan simulasi mengunakan Aspen Plus kondisi operasi yang paling maksimal berada pada suhu 40 oC yang meningkatkan rasio ukuran kristal antara 40-50 μm sebesar 5% dibandingkan dengan kondisi operasi saat ini. ====================================================================================================================================
This industrial internship was carried out at PT Petrokimia Gresik, with a main focus on operational review in the Production Department III B. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the plant's operational dynamics from a chemical engineering perspective, starting with a management review covering the organizational structure, implementation of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) practices, as well as achieving the Golden PROPER status in the company's environmental management system. Technically, the specifications of the Aluminium Fluoride (AlF₃) Production Unit are mapped in detail from raw material preparation to packaging through the design of Process Block Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (PID). A quantitative evaluation of the performance of critical equipment in the unit was also conducted through mass and energy balance calculations, with a focus on the Preheater Tank, Reactor, Crystallizer, and Calciner units.In addition, the safety aspects of the process are evaluated in a structured way using the Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) methodology to identify and formulate controls for potential hazards in the plant instruments. As a way to address actual operational problems in the field, this report also includes a troubleshooting study that outlines root cause analysis in order to provide practical improvement recommendations. Overall, the preparation of this report aims to give an applied understanding of the integration between engineering theory and actual operations in the manufacturing scale of fertilizers and chemicals. Based on the troubleshooting results, the excessively high Untamped Bulk Density of AlF3 can be reduced by changing or adjusting the operating conditions of the Crystallizer. In this case, changing the operating temperature to maximize the size of the crystals produced.Based on simulations using Aspen Plus, the optimal operating condition is at 40°C, which increases the crystal size ratio between 40-50 μm by 5% compared to the current operating conditions.
