Abstract

Kompresor sekrup (screw compressor) merupakan peralatan vital dalam sistem penyediaan udara bertekanan di industri modern, yang memerlukan manajemen pemeliharaan (maintenance) terstruktur dan penempatan yang tepat untuk menjamin keandalan operasional. Laporan kerja praktik ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengklasifikasikan aktivitas perawatan (preventif, korektif, dan breakdown), merumuskan kriteria penempatan kompresor yang ideal, serta mengevaluasi performa teknis kompresor tipe JM 10 (7,5 kW) dan JM 100 (75 kW) di PT. Nusantara Teknik Utama. Metode evaluasi performa dilakukan secara termodinamika dengan menghitung laju aliran massa udara, usaha kompresi isentropik, dan efisiensi isentropik aktual berdasarkan data temperatur dan tekanan operasional. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pemeliharaan preventif yang meliputi perawatan berkala (periodic) seperti penggantian filter oli/udara serta pemeliharaan prediktif (predictive) melalui kalkulasi efisiensi secara signifikan mencegah kerusakan katastrofik. Penempatan kompresor direkomendasikan pada ruang khusus tertutup dengan jarak bebas (clearance) minimal 1 meter dari dinding dan atap, temperatur lingkungan di bawah 45°C, kelembaban rendah, serta fondasi yang rata untuk meminimalkan transmisi getaran. Hasil perhitungan teknis menunjukkan efisiensi isentropik untuk tipe JM 10 mencapai 69,2% (memenuhi rentang standar referensi 62% - 72%) dan tipe JM 100 mencapai 82,0% (memenuhi rentang standar referensi 75% - 85%). Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa kedua unit kompresor masih beroperasi dalam performa optimal dan sesuai dengan standar keandalan industri.

Screw compressors are vital equipment in compressed air supply systems in modern industries, requiring structured maintenance management and precise placement to ensure operational reliability. This internship report aims to identify and classify maintenance activities (preventive, corrective, and breakdown), formulate the criteria for ideal compressor placement, and evaluate the technical performance of JM 10 (7.5 kW) and JM 100 (75 kW) screw compressors at PT. Nusantara Teknik Utama. The performance evaluation method was carried out thermodynamically by calculating the air mass flow rate, isentropic compression work, and actual isentropic efficiency based on operational temperature and pressure data. The analysis shows that preventive maintenance, which includes periodic care such as oil/air filter replacement and predictive monitoring via efficiency calculations, significantly prevents catastrophic failures. Compressor placement is recommended in a dedicated indoor space with a minimum clearance of 1 meter from walls and ceiling, ambient temperature below 45°C, low humidity, and a level foundation to minimize vibration transmission. The technical calculation results show that the isentropic efficiency for the JM 10 model is 69.2% (matching the standard reference range of 62% - 72%) and the JM 100 model is 82.0% (matching the standard reference range of 75% - 85%). These findings indicate that both compressor units are operating within optimal performance limits and comply with industrial reliability standards.
