Abstract
Besi merupakan salah satu jenis logam yang paling banyak digunakan di seluruh dunia. Bijih yang dihasilkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku pembuatan logam besi yang prosesnya dilebur dan dicampurkan dengan unsur lainnya. website investing.com menunjukkan bahwa untuk harga bijih besi saat ini terus mengalami kenaikan harga yang signifikan, karena banyaknya permintaan kebutuhan dari produsen industri produk besi menimbulkan kelangkaan dari bijih yang dihasilkan disini. Dengan tingginya harga jual bahan baku, maka dari itu disini ingin memanfaatkan burr sisa proses pemesinan yaitu proses turning, proses knurling, proses milling dan masih banyak lainnya. Burr adalah hasil suatu proses pemesinan berupa serbuk yang biasanya sudah tidak terpakai lagi. Serbuk besi yang digunakan merupakan serbuk yang belum mempunyai sertifikasi kandungan bahan, lalu setelah itu membuat rancangan Spesimen yang digunakan berbentuk silinder dengan ukuran diameter 20 mm dan tinggi 20 mm. Dengan dilakukan berbagai pengujian agar mendapatkan hasil struktur mikro dan juga sifat mekaniknya. Setelah melakukan penelitian dengan berbagai macam pengujian seperti pengujian metalografi, pengujian kekerasan permukaan, pengujian kekerasan dan pengujian geser didapatkan bahwa lama waktu penahanan temperature sesaat proses sintering sangat mempengaruhi dari sifat mekanik dari suatu spesimen tersebut, yang dimana semakin lama proses penahanan temperatur maka semakin kuat pula sifat mekanik dari spesimen tersebut. Dan berbanding lurus dengan pengujian metalografi yang didapatkan bahwa struktur mikro pearlite dan ferrit sangat mendominasi dan memiliki sifat yang ulet.

Based on results of research with various kinds of tests such as metallographic testing, surface roughness testing, hardness testing and shear testing, it was found that the length of the holding time for the instantaneous temperature of the sintering process greatly affects the mechanical properties of a specimen, where the longer the temperature holding process, the stronger it is. mechanical properties of the specimen. And it is directly proportional to the metallographic test, which shows that the microstructure of pearlite and ferrite dominates and has ductile properties.
