Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginterpretasikan persebaran lapisan batubara dan menganalisis hubungan densitas terhadap parameter kualitas batubara di Sub-Blok Girimulya Barat. Data yang digunakan meliputi data geophysical well logging dari 9 titik bor, terdiri atas gamma ray log, long density log, dan caliper log, serta data kualitas batubara hasil analisis proksimat. Korelasi antar sumur dilakukan menggunakan metode cross section melalui tiga penampang. Hasil korelasi menunjukkan bahwa Seam E1 merupakan marker bed yang muncul secara konsisten di seluruh bor dan mengalami splitting menjadi beberapa sub-seam akibat intrusi material clay. Secara keseluruhan, lapisan batubara menebal ke arah Timur Laut dan kemiringan curam pada area cross strike. Analisis hubungan nilai densitas terhadap kualitas batubara dilakukan menggunakan metode bivariate scatterplot dengan koefisien korelasi (R²). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ash content memiliki korelasi terkuat dan berbanding lurus terhadap densitas (R²=0,8288), sedangkan calorific value (R²=0,8117) dan total moisture (R²=0,2522) berkorelasi kuat namun berbanding terbalik. Rata-rata nilai kalori batubara di area penelitian adalah 5.060 Cal/g, termasuk dalam kategori kualitas rendah hingga sedang. Kandungan abu terbukti menjadi faktor dominan yang memengaruhi densitas sekaligus menekan nilai kalori batubara di Sub-Blok Girimulya Barat

This study aims to interpret the distribution of coal seams and analyze the relationship between density and coal quality parameters in the Girimulya Barat Sub-Block, South Borneo. The data utilized in this research consist of geophysical well logging data from nine boreholes, including gamma ray logs, long density logs, and caliper logs, as well as coal quality data obtained from proximate analysis. Correlation between boreholes was conducted using the cross-section method through three geological sections. The correlation results indicate that Seam E1 serves as a marker bed that occurs consistently across all boreholes and exhibits splitting into several sub-seams due to the intrusion of clay material. Overall, the coal seams thicken toward the northeast and display steep dips within the cross-strike area. The relationship between density values and coal quality parameters was analyzed using bivariate scatterplots and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that ash content has the strongest positive correlation with density (R² = 0.8288), whereas calorific value (R² = 0.8117) and total moisture (R² = 0.2522) exhibit inverse correlations with density. The average calorific value of coal in the study area is 5,060 cal/g, classifying it as low- to medium-quality coal. Ash content is identified as the dominant factor influencing coal density while simultaneously reducing the calorific value of the coal in the Girimulya Barat Sub-Block.
