Abstract
Merespons peningkatan permintaan amonia di Indonesia sekaligus urgensi transisi energi menuju net zero emission, dirancang pendirian pabrik amonia biru (blue ammonia) berkapasitas 850.000 ton/tahun yang berlokasi di Teluk Bintuni, Papua Barat. Lokasi tersebut dipilih melalui metode analytical hierarchy process (AHP) dengan pertimbangan utama ketersediaan gas alam yang melimpah dari kilang Tangguh LNG. Proses produksi utama menerapkan teknologi autothermal reforming (ATR) yang terintegrasi dengan unit carbon capture utilization (CCU) berbasis pelarut aMDEA untuk memisahkan emisi karbon secara efisien. CO2 hasil tangkapan diubah menjadi produk bernilai tambah berupa asam formiat berkapasitas 82.115 ton/tahun melalui hidrogenasi katalitik, liquid CO2 komersial sebanyak 60.000 ton/tahun, serta 1.388.252,73 ton/tahun CO2 untuk kebutuhan enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Proses produksi terbagi menjadi tahapan pre-treatment gas alam, syngas generation, CO shift conversion, CO2 removal, metanasi, purifikasi hidrogen, sintesis amonia, dan unit CCU. Untuk memenuhi kapasitas produksi tahunannya diperlukan gas alam sebesar 86 MMSCFD. Berdasarkan analisis ekonomi dengan metode discounted cash flow, diperoleh nilai total capital investment (TCI) sebesar $1.228.425.886 dan total product cost (TPC) sebesar $593.173.597,82 per tahun. Pabrik ini dinyatakan layak didirikan dengan nilai net present value (NPV) positif sebesar $453.700.510,69, internal rate of return (IRR) sebesar 10,24% yang lebih besar dari WACC 8,5%, dan waktu pengembalian modal (pay out time) selama 10 tahun.

In response to the increasing the demand for ammonia in Indonesia and the urgent energy transition toward Net Zero Emission, this Final Project designs a Blue Ammonia plant with a capacity of 850,000 tons/year located in Teluk Bintuni, West Papua. This strategic location was selected through Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis due to its abundant natural gas availability. The primary production process employs Autothermal Reforming (ATR) technology integrated with a Carbon Capture Utilization (CCU) unit using MDEA solvent for efficient carbon emission separation. A key feature of this design is the conversion of CO2 emissions into value-added products to reduce import dependency, specifically producing 82,117 tons/year of formic acid via catalytic hydrogenation, 60,000 tons/year of commercial Liquid CO2, and supplying 1.38 million tons/year of CO2 for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). The design scope encompasses mass and energy balances, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), process safety studies (HAZOP), and economic feasibility analysis assuming a 2-year construction period and a 20-year operational lifespan. Based on the financial evaluation, this plant is declared highly feasible, demonstrating solid profitability indicators with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 10,24%, a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of $ 453,700,510.42 , and a Pay Out Time (POT) of 10 years.
